This is a great example of a WW II pinup which would be allowed. Pinups which were more risqué were often confiscated by NCOs and Officers. (They were supposed to destroy them but I'll bet a lot weren't.)
The only people who seemed to get away with partial & implied nudity during WWII were the airman with the nose art on their aircraft.
