Excellent photo. It breaks lots of rules, but makes the breakage work. For example, the face is cut in half, but that adds a little mystery and tension. One of the unique things about photography is that before photography in paintings, people were always completely framed. Here also the lighting is a bit harsh, but once again, that works for the photo instead of against it. It is just soft enough to mellow out a little.
