July 28, 2009 10:14pm Hi folks, this was not meant to be just a dumb "peekaboo" series. When I was scouting the location for the vineyard shots, I saw the cornfield across the street and noticed that the corn was already quite tall (Mandie is 6'1" and standing in these shots). Anyway, I went across the street and saw that you really could walk between the rows, just like in the movie "Signs." Anyway, a few days later when we did the shoot, the lighting was PERFECT for this set (better than for the vineyard (as you could see). And Mandie did not disappoint. In all North American Indian cultures there's the legend of the "Corn Goddess." I laugh that between the "In the Garden" set and this set, I probably did the most "archtypical / mythological" sets of my as yet rather insignificant photography "career." lol. And then we did the fun "school bus set" to bring us back to earth :-).
