The best one in D.C. is on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, at 19th Street, north side.
Can't think of the name just now, but try ANYWHO search.

I've had 8-1/2 x 11 full frame 35mm printed on 11 x 14 paper, suitable for framing.

Good luck.

Penn Camera (I think is what its called) out in Rockville might do printing- but if not they can certainly recommend a good place to go.

it's best to buy a nice HP photo printer. You can get a good one for about $100. the quality on these prints are better than you'll get in some photo lab

Try Severn Graphics in Glen Burnie.  If Chrome is still around they were great...in DC.  No offense to my fellow photographers but a $100 printer is not going to be better than a pro photo lab.  Besides, let it be their problem to control the color/contrast etc..
So many of the good labs are closing, digital has put them out of business.

Penn Camera in Rockville does do printing.  The place is run by photographers for photographers.  I know several photographers who swear by them (I shoot only digital, so I don't print that often...)

You may try setting up an account with White House Custom Color (http://www.whcc.com). Free 2-day UPS to anywhere in the country, wonderful quality and prices. 10x13 = $3.25. There is a $12.00 minimum order however. I've been very happy with them.
