An Illustrated history of pornography- on dvd
Well actually it's a 5 hr ...2 dvd set. Rented from Hollywood video. Looks like it may have been done for British TV. Hard to say. I've only seen the first 25% but it's quite informative..and somewhat entertaining .. for a historical overview from pre reniassaince to internet applications. And I got some insight into how our current and past additudes to sexualiy and erotica have been shaped by the church and Victorian influences. It's scholarly but not at all stuffy, and worth a view. I've never come across anything like it. It's always interesting to me ,to examine how our attutudes towards things come about. pornography- the secret history of civilisation KDC-DV-6352 Koch Vision World of wonder Dec 16 06 01:59 pm Link Available on Netflix and Amazon.com. Particularly the reasons behind and why and how such things as corsets, bum rolls, and cod pieces were developed. It all has to do with the reasons we view sexuality as we do through the influences of plagues, the Catholic church, etc. on the past. Dec 16 06 07:26 pm Link Well as long as it shows hours & hours of Jenna Jameson bent like a pretzel with the ky flying at the camera...it sounds like an valuable depiction of pornographic history. P.S. I read Playboy for the articles. Dec 16 06 07:29 pm Link jonathan ledeux wrote: Without porn the internet would not be as developed as it is today. I always have looked at it for the pics! Of course just for the lighting techniques, posing, ideas for backdrops, etc. LMAO Dec 16 06 07:40 pm Link There's no question our (North Americans) view on nudity, sexuality, and sexual expression have been warped by the church and our Puritanical origins. That majoroty of models I've worked with fear having their nipples appear through clothing. Yet they invest untold sums on figure enhancing bras, exercise regimes, diets. This seems odd to me... but I suppose it's matter of percieved propriety We all hold values and beliefs ,the origins of which remains largely unquestioned. These programs examine and challenge our belief system by comparing current standards to other periods in history , when sexuality as "art" wasn't always something to be ashamed of or hidden from view. I'm well aware that some of my work might be viewed as pornographic by some segments of the population.... and I'd most likely be prosecuted in certain countries. So an examination ( of erotic visual art) in varying times, of this sort is quite useful and thought provoking. Dec 17 06 07:00 pm Link Cecil Sharps wrote: Absolutely.
