As discussed here
https://www.modelmayhem.com/forums/post/985341

This is our first week of highlighting recently uploaded images that caught our eye. We had several more images selected
but in some cases the user hasn't read the message we sent, so we don't yet have clear permission. We may add more images to this post if/when permission is granted.

The images are listed in no particular order at all. Please feel free to comment on them, without any negative critique of course.
And also please review the other works that these users display. And comment, like and maybe make a list of your favorites.
It's all about networking, you might as well do some of that.

Please leave some positive feedback for these artists.

Clean, professional, and polished. The hair and makeup team did fantastic work, but the framing and focus pull it all together.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/48874251
The lighting wraps around the subject beautifully, creating soft dimensionality. The pose feels relaxed but intentional.

The composition leads the eye naturally across the frame. This feels fresh and modern, perfect for lifestyle or swimwear clients.

Stefan FH

The moody tones and relaxed pose create an intimate yet confident atmosphere. This image shows range in the photographer/model work and a good instinct for emotional storytelling.

The color saturation here is striking and immediately draws the viewer in. He has done an excellent job balancing warmth and contrast.

Stefan FH's "Swedish Forest" certainly got my attention.  I absolutely loved it and it's something I probably wouldn't have seen otherwise.

A great way to start!

Good use of reflection adds depth and context. The exposure on the subject vs. the reflection is well balanced.

Thank you for highlight Model Mayhem it is always an honor. As for the shot, it was with a dear friend of mine. While we were thinking of creative ideas, the sunset was starting to drop, and I recognized that black and white would create a more striking composition for the picture, drawing focus simply to her hand. So I had her lie down, and I pulled focus to create the shot, and this is what came of it!

Thank you Model Mayhem for highlighting my photo. I really appreciate it.

The photograph was created remotely. The model, Ivory Flame, was in England and I was at home in Maryland. It was photographed with window light.

Wow, a remotely done image? That makes it even more special in my mind.

Thank you for including my photo, it makes me happy to be highlighted along with so many other beautiful models (:
I was actually very young in that one, and everyone was directing me in another language so I just did my best haha.

Week two. May Mod Picks

I never would have thought to open Week 1 thread to find Week 2 selections. I just happened to open this thread since I saw new replies. I wonder how many other members have skipped over this thread?

If you can change the thread title, just call it Mod Picks of the Week
If you cannot change the thread title, please start a new thread to that title, and provide a link back to the first two weeks.

Unfortunately, the title cannot be changed. At first we had thought that we would do a new thread each week, but later decided to use one thread per month.

Thank you very much for selecting my photo this week. Before the shoot, I spent quite a bit of time refining the lighting because I wanted to create the right mood and atmosphere. I also enjoy incorporating interesting props whenever possible, as they can add personality and help tell a story within the frame. Since the model is Italian, I brought along my fedora as a styling element, and once everything came together, the lighting, the pose, and the prop, the image really seemed to come alive. I'm very pleased with how it all worked together and appreciate the recognition.

I really appreciate being featured in this week's spotlight, truly honored to say the least, special thanks to the moderatos of MM. This photo was taken in December 2024. Believe it or not but this was actually my first ever photoshoot, I had paid the photographer to get these made as I was not a "model" at the time. This was the culmination of a 2 year fitness journey that I had started back in January 2023. I had spent Jan 2023 to May 2024 in a bulk (calorie surplus to gain weight/muscle) and managed to get my weight all the way to 168 lb, from May 24' to August 24' I was in  a cut (be in a calorie deficit to cut fat) all the way down to 150 lb and I was shocked by the results as I for the first time in my entire life had visible abs (as you can see here). At that point I became obsessed with wanting to get some digital documentation/proof of it while I still had them as I was very paranoid of losing them which was when the idea of doing a modeling photoshoot came out mind. It was the perfect environment, a controlled environment with the perfect lighting from the right angles to really maximize the abs which are sometimes difficult to show off in natural lighting. So I looked around and found one retired photographer who owned a hair salon in LES who seemed to know how to use lighting the way I had in mind. He was very generous with pricing and availability as he also helped with my hair & other miscellaneous aspects of the shoot I hadn't even considered. On the weeks leading up to the shoot I made a very aggressive cut (calorie deficit) in addition to water & sodium manipulation to achieve the dry/tight skin look you see here to accentuate the abs as much as possible. I had brought a duffel bag filled with at least 10 different outfits and combination of outfits and we had shot literally all day long (about 4pm to 8pm). This shoot was meant to be my absolute "Peak" in terms of looks/physicality and for a while that was the case until I surpassed that record when I had achieved the a cut all the way down to 140 pounds the following year (May 2025). But overall, I'm still very proud and happy of how this shoot went and in hindsight I recognize how difficult it was compared to most other people's shoots.

That’s an incredible story honestly, the dedication behind this photo is just as impressive as the result. You didn’t just show up, you engineered that moment from years of discipline. Respect.

This self-portrait was shot in my living room using a strobe, a large umbrella, and a fabric backdrop.

For this image, I focused on creating a soft, diffused light while maintaining a fairly shallow depth of field. The pose was kept natural and intuitive, allowing the portrait to feel spontaneous and authentic.

For now at least it will stay the way it is. With a new thread for each month. So each thread will have 4 weeks of highlighted photos.
