Ok,so I am not the only one seeing many 18+ avatars over the last couple weeks even when the image itself is marked 18+?

we've been through this before.

A model has the right to determine what types of pictures she wants to pose for regardless of what she's has done prior.

Good theory, but I'm referring to the NO NUDES DON'T ASK in the profile.

But it seems completely illogical to then post such images somewhere that basically exists for the purpose of getting work.

I see it as the equivalent of sending a CV to a job agency listing your skills as "Chef, Typist, Gardener, Carpenter", and then rejecting any carpentry jobs they offer on the basis "Oh, I'm not interested in doing that anymore".

Ok, but to use a topless picture as an avitar is a decidedly mixed message.

In that case, the "you" is everyone who looks at the profile regardless of whether the viewer even contacted the model.

And to think in another thread you put someone down for being unprofessional, but condone it and recommend it here. Interesting....

How is someone saying they're arroused during photoshoots and me saying it's unprofessional (IN MY OPINION) taking it out of context?

Quoting me and attacking on one line of two paragraphs is taking something out of context.  Attacking me on med school, my nude photographs; that's taking something out of context.

I'm guessing that the women who post such messages along with their 18+ photos/avatars see no contradiction whatsoever.  So it's pointless to even waste the energy scratching your head about it.

Not really.
If I were looking to shoot nude models and I came across this particular model's profile and saw what you're describing, I'd probably think, "Wow, I she would have made a great addition". and I'd keep it moving. No big deal.

True, if she posts up the pictures, she's expected to shoot more like it.  I think it's something that she should just speak to the photographers personally about in the future when they try to book her.
If the topless photograph is there, they are going to ask, so she just needs to be prepared to answer.

Take her at her word ... never mind the pictures. She says she doesn't want the work ... don't offer her the work. It's her thing. Don't make it your problem.

Originally central MD near Baltimore, now I live in southern MD near DC.

I'm used to being 5 min from Baltimore, now I'm 5 min from D.C.

but seriously ...
If we're honest, as photographers, most of us know that the sexier our Avi, the more likely we get visits. (i.e. if I changed my Avi to an implied nude right now my port lights up).

Some would call that strategic advertisement.

My profile says that I never TFP with models.

All this means is that I would not test with most models. If I remove the clause I will get a swarm of useless emails.

Same goes for nude

So nude, but only if you're brilliant

Yes you could say that,
or you could simply see it as the model reducing the number of GWCs messaging her asking for nude work.

Ok - watch this!

I've had this avatar {a man appearing to hold the world on his shoulders} since this morning and posted 4 times on the main page. Since then I've only had 1 new view in my entire portfolio.

I'm going to change my avatar right now [9:14 pm] to an implied nude and I suspect that my views will increase a great deal.

Lucky you!  I'm going back to VA on Sunday to shoot and just see all the family and old friends.

Moving always sucks, though.  Good luck with that!

But topless isn't the same as nude, and the person may be comfortable posing topless but not posing fully nude.

I really wanted to change my avatar to the new pic in the jacuzzi, but it'd probably get flagged because you can see a little part of a breast.
