Many of you are aware of the pending announcement for the new Nikon Z6iii...

The surprise is, based on some new camera models placeholders that Nikon Germany has just set up (as Nikon Rumors pointed out), it seems there will actually be TWO new Nikon Z models announced.  Nikon Germany, apparently, has created similar hidden placeholders in the past, before other new model announcements.

While there doesn't appear to be much debate about a new Z6iii, the question is what will the other model be?

There wasn't much serious speculation about a Z7iii due to the Z8 overlap, but that may have just been wrong.

Also rumored was a Z50ii or a Z9H (in time for the Olympics).  And there are clearly all sorts of model gaps (high-end and low-end) in their DX crop sensor model lineup that could still be filled...

It appears that this extra new model is a bit of a surprise, whatever it is.
