This morning I read about the death of Brenda Snipes. She was in the spotlight after the election problems in 2004.

I was playing photojournalist at the time and attended the inspection.

After doing this for 20 years I have seen a number of the people I have photographed pass away and a few get arrested. Getting older you realize how fast life is flowing along with all the changes.

On October 1 I lost a very close friend. Cydne did some modeling work for me way back in the day and she had a profile on MM for a while.

She went off to college, started a blazingly successful career in fashion design working for Macy's, Nordstrom, and Hermes.

She went through breast cancer like a trooper and her then-boyfriend stood by her and saw her through. They were engaged when she found out she was expecting twins. A few months into the pregnancy she discovered she had brain cancer. She opted to hold off treatment to see the babies brought to term and she happily delivered them this past May.

Sadly she left us. One of the nicest people I've ever known and she sacrificed her life to give her boys a future.

Not many people like that in this world. She will be missed and in so many ways.
