I see so many "it's Hot", wonderful, magnificient, yada,yada, dada. It has gotten so bad I don't respect peoples props for my work. I totally understand "if you don't have something good to say, don't say it", but MM has taken it to a hypocritical extreme. We need truth not "smoke up the ass"!

Somehow, the average person is really really good at letting people have it but not so good at offering nice words.

While it may be true that Mayhem creates a candy coated atmosphere, it's refreshing and perhaps even needed to balance all the negativity that we see in other places.

I may not buy into all of it but I'm welcoming it nonetheless

I think MM goes to both extremes...and all extremes....

In the forums....someone asks a good question....and smart asses come out of the woodwork or belittle the person.  Although I also find the forums full of excellent advise and commenst as well.

Comments in ports....well I have seen great Photographers with 3 comments....and someone with a point n shoot and a bare lightbulb get hundreds of "incredible lighting"  "amazing concept" blah blah blah.  Or well thought out Fashion shots with a styling, hair/MUA and a beautiful wardobe....and this shot gets nada.  Put a girl showing any kind of skin and....1296 views.......998 comments.

And tags....again....well respected photographers with a few tags....some chica with a hot bikini avatar...and hundreds of tags.

MM is an interesting place....but I will say....there allot of very talented folks here and I also must say....allot of schleps.

Cheers,

Scotland

Accolades?

Accolades are like the hand gestures of the parade queen.

:: marching bands ::

:::: big 'ole opulent float ::::

::: parade wave :::

:: horses ::

~~ oopsie ~~

Now if our queen stops the parade, gets down off the float, and gets personal
(( without stepping in the fertilizer ))
- then you've a real accolade on (in?) your hands.

Those, those are the best. I've collected the best ones I received from day one on MM.

............ and the band marches on.
