im assuming you mustve chosen flight, teleportation or something else when you got to pick your magic power?

When I am invisible I cannot see my hand. If i pick up a utensil I can see the utensil, floating in space.

It sounds like you are talking about multi-dimensional time warping, where you aren't actually there at the time others are looiking at you. It's like radio, without bad music and advertisements for air conditioning. You can sort of "phone it in".

If the doctor fell into the ocean, fish would eat him anyway. Invisible does not mean that you don't stink.

Ah, a cloaking device is what you mean, in a way.  Same concept, really.  It might be one of those 'holy grails' of theoretical future technology, I'd think.
