I originally had a Wacom Intuos Pro Small that I absolutely loved but it now seems it won't ever be returned (don't ask). Went on to Amazon to purchase another one and simply typed "Wacom" figuring it would lead me straight to it. Now I'm seeing options for Huion on tablets, which I've honestly never heard of. I trust Wacom and it never failed me, but I'm also concerned about cost and Huion has great deals.

Anyone familiar with it and can give me advice on whether I should stick with what I know, or venture out and try something new? It's greatly appreciated.

Amazon and Adorama are still carrying Wacom, at different price levels and so is B & H, and I would advise sticking with it is a highly regarded Brand. Here's an expensive model: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ … ctive.html

On the Huion in reviews it is regarded as good but not as good as Wacom.

I've got the Huion thing.  Not impressed by it at all, and haven't used it much since buying it two years ago.

When tilted as an artist easel, the cords exit the bottom and it's sort of messy dealing with that part.  Needs better legs for tilting.

The glass screen is far enough away from the actual color pixel part where drawing on it is sort of like painting through a one inch glass.  You have to look straight down into it, then that gets back into the angle thing and bad cord placement above.

I don't know what the color screen is, but it might not even be sRGB 100% either.

Minimal buttons to control on it so you have to go back to a keyboard with a computer so it takes up a lot of real estate to operate it.

When I use it along with an Eizo CG 4K monitor, the paralleling of the two causes the HDMI signal to become weak so the Huion gets these "marching ants" around some colors, especially blue.  I tried using an amplifier for the dual HDMI but the Huion is stubborn.  Feeding a signal into it may or may not work as planned.

Personally, if I were to do it again I'd get the Wacom with the OS built into it so it can run as a standalone.  Huion hasn't upgraded the thing since I bought it as far as the drivers go either.  I think it is just a cheap knock-off that really wasn't fully thought out.

I would stick with Wacom and avoid dealing with Spamamazon to not end up with a fake fraud product

Wacom all the way.  Had mine for over 10 years, still works perfect.

I have used a couple off brands that served me just fine. I wear cable connectors out on wacom the same way I do off brand models. I guess it depends how many features you use. I use basic tablet functions so I am not real picky. I prefer a none battery operated stylus.
