Volunteering at Crisis- Photography Classroom assistant https://www.crisis.org.uk/get-involved/ … nt-london/ I was actually looking how to volunteer at Christmas but came upon this role. It's: Monday and/or Friday 2 – 6.00pm Ideally a minimum time commitment of 3 months / one term So may suit someone retired/freelance. I've put the description below. I'm not affiliated in anyway, just thought it would be good to share. Role outline and the difference you will make The photography workshop offers learners the opportunity to learn the basics of digital photography. Participants are taught the key principles of capturing digital images using Canon SLR cameras. The workshop takes place in the Mac suite so the participants are taught software skills such as Photoshop to edit their pictures. This is a very popular class, participants are of mixed ability and some require more assistance. The tutor would welcome volunteer support to assist the learners in achieving their goals. What you will gain Experience of volunteering with a major UK Homeless Charity Opportunity to gain experience with our client group Opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of homeless people One to one support from a designated line manager Travel expenses (within Greater London) reimbursed and lunch expenses reimbursed if volunteering over a mealtime, or over 4 hours. Core tasks and what you will achieve Help the tutor set up the class Preparing equipment such as charging cameras so they are ready for use Support the tutor in any tasks associated with the running of the class Support the members one two one so everyone can benefit from teaching Assist with packing away materials and equipment after each session Accompany the tutor and class on visits to museums and galleries The skills & experience we are looking for An interest in teaching Photography Excellent knowledge of SLR Digital cameras Excellent knowledge of Adobe software such e.g. In Design and Photoshop Understanding of the Mac operating system Ability to work co-operatively with Skylight tutors Patience and good interpersonal skills An understanding of and empathy towards the barriers faced by homeless individual Additional information All Crisis volunteers are asked to: Comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct at all times To maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all accessible information about members and the organisation Be positive, productive and have the passion to help end homelessness Dec 19 17 08:07 am Link |
