hi guys,

just wondering what kind portfolio you have or use?
most of the time they ask for mij online portfolio, so I don't have an updated printed portfolio.
is it weird that if someone ask me I show it to them with my iPad or macbook instead
of a printed portfolio. I mean like agencies.... etc.

Amy this is pretty much a marketing issue and depends on your target audience... Please keep in mind that every market can be and usually is different... Since you are based in Netherlands I can not speak with authority on your market...

That said in my market I have sustained my revenue stream primarily through my web site and other related sites like Wedding Wire... My largest client is an advertising agency out of New York and they found me through my web site...

As for having a physical book? A decade ago I did, now I just use a Zed Card (Comp Card) with my contact info on it which I leave with every potential client... This currently is working well for me however my market is primarily Washington DC.

Here is my Mayhem Makeup Artist account which I don't use any more since I was only booking one or two bridal clients a year on this site...

Hope this helps or is at least food for thought...
I wish you well on your journey Amy

thank you for your answer big_smile

I ask this because I am confused.
at my makeup school and grime they always saying you have to have a
printed one. but the photographers always ask if I have a online portfolio
I guess it doesn't matter as long as you can show your work right?
for the first time I send an mail to agencies, they asked me for my website I am just wondering
if I have an interview with them, are they gonna to ask for my printed one.
i have no idea what to expect wink

I see more iPads but have a nice comp card to leave. There is also a lot of conversations going on through social media.

Now a days it's your port on a tablet. A few years ago I used to carry around a flash drive to castings. I have to say I don't miss carrying my print book it was such an expensive expense that no one seems to use anymore. It's nice to go through it and reminisce but it's rare that anybody will ask for print photos.  Right now I'm in the process of updating my website I usually include the link to this site my website and my Ig page when sending out my feelers for work. Also I have 5 images on my business card. A guy, a hair shot, makeup shot, a mock bride and her friend and a fashion shot.  I figure it pretty much says it all on that card.
