All real non-technical critiques are always more about the critiquer than the actual work.  That's the way it is when someone tells you what they see and feel.  His tone is a little chastising at the end, but I don't know if it would be enough to make me go sideways on him over it. 

Personally, I'd let it go after stating her age (that's something you want to straighten out right away) and making note of his reaction.  For me, it's helpful to understand what elements in a photo key certain reactions and emotions in people for later use.
