My laptop hard drive is unrecoverable, so I will have to do a clean install of windows. Unfortunately  the Windows product key is badly scuffed. Can anyone with Photoshop skills make an educated guess what the last 10 digits are?

It seems to me one of the following:

XXDHG-ZB624
XXDHC-7B624

You can try variations of the bolded characters. The last one is really difficult to identify. It could be also: K, N, L, P, R, W. I don't know but it might be easier to contact Microsoft.

What brand/model of laptop is it? Some brands are automatically activated without requiring the input of a Product Key. My Dell is such a machine. I just use the supplied install disc.

Did you upgrade to Windows 10? If so, I believe the Product key is now unnecessary - Microsoft's Activation Servers will recognize the

The drive is toast so a key finder won't work. I tried an IR filter, but no luck.

Thanks to everyone who helped out. I'll let you know how it goes once I get a windows 7 iso. Microsoft doesn't seems to be letting people download them any more. I've been running Mint on another machine but haven' t bothered to install Photoshop.  Depending on your version, it sometimes doesn't play very well together.
