It's maybe overdone, and often done not very well, but then your avi is a handbra, which is equally (if not more) overused and often not done very well.  (Commenting in general, not making a statement about your particular pic)

Exactly.

It's not a staple in Fashion photography or modeling,  But It is one in Glamour modeling.  And I'm quite sure I've seen many of the top models in the glamour field pose in a bikini with a gun.  I know I've seen Pammy and Carmen Electra do it.

Modeling does not begin and end with fashion.
