So my 10 year old large Intuos 3 is finally dying and I'm looking to get a new one.  I have $500 to spend that my wonderful mother gave me as an early xmas present.  I was thinking of getting the Intuos pro large but then I realized the medium one isn't that much smaller than the one I currently use.  I do a serious amount of beauty retouching work though and I'm worried the smaller size will limit me. I've used the Large Intuos pro at a retouching studio in NYC and loved it but I'm willing to adjust to something smaller to save money as long as I can do everything I normally do.

Does anyone use the medium Intuos pro for high end retouch work and if so do you find it's difficult or do you quickly adjust to the size?

Had the Intuos 3 before for long time too. I have both medium and large, both works perfectly well.

But I do find the large much more comfortable to work with.
Hope this helps

I have always used the medium one, and all I do is beauty.  I found I was moving my arm around too much with the large, and the medium saves a bit of space.

Thanks for the suggestions, I got the medium one, I think it will be good enough for what I need.

I'd get the current Intuos version - and I'd get the medium - the large is really too big for a typical desk space and not additionally beneficial for retouching unless one's doing drawings. For retouching the medium is perfect in my experience.

See, I have the small and I think that is a perfect size for what I'm after. Not sure if it's typical in your area, but my Best Buy actually let me get a feel for one and it's why I opted for the small.

RIP your intuous

I use a medium-sized intuous 3 that I got off of e-bay for less than my first baby bamboo tablet

I've heard mixed things about the later models but that could just be a model of personal preference..I suppose it really comes down to whether or not you like using all those extra buttons and stuff smile
