Who would do a shoot like this????
I think it is great and would be a effing blast, but I have a two questions....to be in the rain....
1) how would the camera stay dry and
2) are there any photographers out there that would do (have done) this? (or any models??) CURIOUS! Have the shot?

Yep, either a big sprinkler or water from a large boom.  Anyway, you can be under a large umbrella or a tarp setup.  There are also 'raincoats' for cameras.  Pretty cool items, too.

Quite possibly, from the criss-crossing of the "rain", it was done with multiple fire hoses, aimed upward toward the models, and the water then falling onto them.  I did a much simpler version a few years ago with a garden hose and 2 models.

Uh oh, it didn't look like any of those models had escorts!
On noes!
LOL
I really felt bad for the girl in the shower on the right side of the screen (stage left) with the long black hair, she looked cold & uncomfortable the whole time

I would love to do a shoot like this one.  Would have made sure the rain was in the complete picture though.  I have shot in the rain before and thank God for duck tape.  I had a friend duck tape a large umbrella to my back by going around my back and chest with the tape until the umbrella was stable and had a couple of towels fixed to my jacket with velcro so if any drops got on the lense I could wipe them off and also had a couple extra skylight filters with me so I could change them out if I needed.  I looked stupid as hell, but it worked out well.  Thank God the wind was not blowing bad though.

The reason they use wind and rain machines is so they can control it and get repeatable shots. Otherwise you're shooting at the mercy of the weather.

I was shooting at a horse show/equestrian event where it was completely uncontrolable and have also shot in the rain at some Renaissance Fairs as well.  The show must go on as they say.  That's why I would love to shoot in a controlled atmosphere like this one.

There's always "digital rain" too. SFX are great to work with in video.

Jeeeez - is that shower shoot supposed to be sexy? That is probably the least sexy thing I have seen in a long time. Does that make me dead inside or does anyone agree?

It seems a bit of a contrivance that stretches reality to the breaking point, doesn't it?

there is only a shower of water over the models - if you look to the right of the image you can see that there is no spray.

And it can be done - just rig up an umbrella on a web belt with suspenders and you can shoot high and dry (at least at camera height - that is how I did the rain shots on my profile).

I've shot in rain heavier than that -- for real. I just put a hood on the lens of my Oly E-1 and get wet with everyone else. If the shower is warm (summer, not spring or fall) it's great fun.

I'd shoot it, hell I shot a woman with three nipples once, I'll shoot anything...

and my quick impression of the set up is the rain is manufactured, a narrow beam of water falling only on the models...  Course living in Oregon, I have my dry cameras and those I'm willing to get wet so...  lol

It's not real rain.

The models likely were paid.

Not everything in the world is TFP.

Most things are not, actually.

I agree 100 percent.  I started laughing at the end of it because when the shooting for that particular set was done one of the girls covered her breasts with her hand and arm???  What the hell was that about!  Is she shy...lmao

The photographer in the video was using a Pentax 6x7.  No wonder it turned out so well.  There's magic in big film, I guess.

Her brain was probably ticking over like a taxi meter... as soon as she was no longer being paid to stand around naked she shut it off.

Yeah, so everyone is saying that it isn't real rain. It is a shame that it isn't, would have been more fun. The models were most likely 100% paid. No, everything in this world is not TFP....who said so? Who asked about if they were paid or not? I said that Playboy doesn't pay ENOUGH for those poor girls to be sliding their bare bums all over a shower floor.
