The question is, which forms (message boards) were you active at (or still are) before you found this one?

I myself have been active over at MDC "models.com" for several years and semi active at the OMP forms these last two years. I also visit the FOF "fashion only form" as well as a professional make up form from time to time.

I have been on this site about a week and have seen a few familiar faces as well as lots of new ones. I have also noticed how fast these forms have taken off so I assume most of the people here have experience with modeling forms before this one.

This place kind of reminds me of my first week at Jr. High school. Some old faces and lots of new ones all the while in a whole different setting (playground). https://bestsmileys.com/freak/5.gif

I'm actually new to the big bad world of photography forums.  I use OMP to find photographers, but I haven't spent much time on the forums.  For some reason I'm more intrigued by the topics here, and I think I'm likely to be more active here.  There's more of a community vibe, which for me at any rate makes me feel more comfy.

I never added my input on forums before. They go so quickly. lol. Hard to keep track. But its nice to see how people think. Some people have changed my oppinions on things and helped me.

For Photo Equipment - Dpreview.com

Other than that most are too restrictive or just have a bunch of idiots on them....

I wish this one have a way to save threads or watch threads instead of having to go back and just try to remember where you posted..

Photo.net, though the posts seem to have much less value now than they used to. (And not just due to my experience--there's a lot more misinformation than there used to be.)

Photoshoppers (now defunct, and not a Photoshop forum)

Kirk Voclain's Pro4uM

dpreview's lighting forum

Monte Zucker's forums and Zuga.net, though, they, too, went downhill rapidly a couple of years ago.

Models.com, but not in a few years.

Fashion-only forum. I still lurk, but probably haven't posted anything there in the last few years.

Glamourmodels.com (mostly lurking)

GarageGlamour until a couple of years ago. There was a huge change in mood coincidental to a software upgrade, and I've only checked in a couple of times since then. (It used to be a very friendly place; that's changed. sad )

Various USENET forums prior to the growth of the web. Ditto CompuServe and GEnie photo forums.

Too many digital imaging forums to mention. Photoshoptechniques.com is my main one for that now.

i frequently hang out at garageglamour.com (i'm one of the ez-going people there)

some of the canon digital sites for tech stuff and photo.net as well (for the same info)

OMP -- while i'm a member (i forget which metal or mineral or whatever level of member i am... actually, my DBA is the member...not me personally. i generally find OMP a waste of time.  too many posers, wannabees, frauds, grifters, GWCs, flakes and sleazeballs.

and now i'm spending some time here. (and i'll wait and see how this one evolves... so far, so good tho.)

OK, I'll bite! Yes, I admit to having a profile on OMP. Had it since early 2001 so have a low number to protect ... #2662. and I'm on a few other places like MySpace  http://www.myspace.com/Bellaimages or also known as "The Happy Photo Guy!" LOL  It is actually Hugh telling me about this place on mySpace that got me to try out ModelMayhem. The other places, well I don't even remember the log in on many of the free accounts I have! That shows you how often I go there!

Hey CurvaceousCathryn, I heard the Earthlings discovered another Planet! Do you suppose any of our relatives are there?  LOL   OK, we'll dlkfjweoi904uc  sdlkfj9e9m and eojff49i at sfkwioho. Much sdojfjo39e  to you! If anyone else understands this, you get a free trip to Mars!

XOXO's

i've been an OMP member for a while (hence the 3 digit number #994) although i've never posted on a forum over there.

the only photo forum i post on is the DWF (www.digitalweddingforum.com) as i am really a wedding photographer who just shoots models on the side.

Huh...... why does one have to "protect" a low number????   How does one protect a low number anyhow?

Other then tell people when you joined and how long you have been there what does a low number get you?

Me- a bit on glamourmodels.com discussion board.

Someone posted about here early on and I came on over (#112).

I was on myspace for a bit but since Im not cute and am happily married- I had nothing to do there.

I never did the OMP thing as I already had my website and such.
