At a photo shoot...
Any reasons to wear sandals for photos? or flip flops? What would be the reason? Is there a good use for them during shoots (and I don't mean for walking from one spot to the next). Has anyone shot a model in sandals that actually looks good? Models, have you worn sandals for a shoot? Just curious. Nov 22 06 08:31 pm Link I think they would be nice for a beach shoot. Nov 22 06 08:34 pm Link Why do I imagine someone making this rant while holding 2 bloody stumps with sandals on them. Nov 22 06 08:34 pm Link lol not a rant. just something i was thinking about today. I just did a shoot today for fun with a friend while she was in town and she had sandals.. well, flip flops on actually and i thought of this question just now *hiding the bloody stumps* Nov 22 06 08:37 pm Link Jennifer Baumann wrote: yeah maybe but i'd just have the model barefoot personally. have you done any beach shoots in sandals? Nov 22 06 08:37 pm Link It was just a great image in my head of you yelling above statement to the models feet. LOL Nov 22 06 08:38 pm Link Swabere wrote: "That'll teach you to wear sandals!! " Nov 22 06 08:43 pm Link David Scott wrote: That was the only thing I could think of that they would be useful for..I do think barefoot looks better a lot of the time. Nov 23 06 10:19 am Link I've done a shoot in strappy shoes. From memory I think the photogrpaher cropped out my feet!!! hehehe. Nov 23 06 10:34 am Link Swabere wrote: LMAO. Sandals can be fine, especially for the beach, pool, or a summer-feel shoot. If the model is short, you may want heels to make her appear taller, though. I've shot in sandals before, and the photos came out fine. I can't imagine why it'd be a problem unless she had gross feet. Nov 23 06 10:39 am Link Well as a photographer i like shooting barefoot. Avoiding obstacles, balancing getting on the tippy toes. Its all easier if i'm barefoot. Sandals are an easy way to go from protected feet to comfortable shooting. Birkenstocks baby. birkenstocks Nov 23 06 10:43 am Link It depends on the photos. If you're shooting what I shoot, flip-flops can work, sandals can work, barefoot works, sneakers work (although more of my customers like to see feet...) Nov 23 06 09:25 pm Link The only one that belongs in sandals is Jesus... Nov 23 06 10:28 pm Link 5th ave films wrote: I agree. UGLY. Nov 23 06 10:30 pm Link just thinking about sandals. reminds me of my mom in her birkenstocks don't get me wrong. I love her but eww. Nov 23 06 10:34 pm Link LOL General concensus: Just say no to shooting flip flops or sandals Nov 23 06 10:41 pm Link SickShooter wrote: Ditto on that. More importantly though, unless they've got heels (which way too often looks trashy) it's just going to shorten your model, and not flatter her legs. Sandals just aren't attractive nor do they make a model look attractive. Nov 23 06 10:43 pm Link If anyone can pull off sandals/flip flops and make it look good, I'd LOVE to see that. edit: and please.. no modeling in these.. EVER Nov 23 06 10:48 pm Link David Scott wrote: Ugh. Please no WEARING them. They're almost as bad as Uggs. *shudder* Nov 23 06 10:52 pm Link I hate flip flops. Nothing against people who wear them, I just don't like them. I can't even remember wearing them since I was a small boy. Ironically, I encourage models to arrive to shoots wearing them because they're fast to take off and comfy to walk in- that's important because I often shoot in huge parks. I'm used to them.. but that doesn't say anything other than I'm used to how ugly they are. Nov 23 06 11:00 pm Link Well, I have seen some Craigslist adds about looking for sandal models...so I guess there are need for them as well as shoe/feet fetish people... XP Nov 23 06 11:10 pm Link I prefer my models barefoot or in heels while shooting... Nov 25 06 01:05 am Link |
