Are you afraid of gaining weight?
I just had to ask: I know some of you probably will diet during the holiday's or maybe not even eat at all. Are you afraid of gaining weight over the holiday's, or are you going to stuff yourself? PS. If you can easily gain weight please pass the weight over here, or tell me how I can. Help! Nov 22 06 02:26 pm Link Nope. It would actually be nice to gain a few. lol Nov 22 06 02:30 pm Link Same here. When I was younger I tried everything I could to gain. Now I realize its genetics and I'm happy to know I will most likely be forever skinny. Nov 23 06 12:21 am Link urheartsdesire2 wrote: afraid or not, statistics say, over time, most all of us will. Nov 23 06 12:26 am Link I'm not afraid of it, it's a certainty.. my mother's cooking is just that good! I live in Canada though so there's a 2 month break between major food holidays (Thanksgiving's in October for us) so it's not a big deal.... nothing a bit of exercise wouldn't cure. Nov 23 06 12:29 am Link I've been walking 5 miles each day instead of eating lunch, so I'm not immediately afraid of gaining weight. -Don Nov 23 06 12:48 am Link I'm more or less the same size and weight no matter what I eat, because I love to work out. Christmas ham, here I come! Nov 23 06 12:53 am Link D. Brian Nelson wrote: jeez, you don't believe in taking things half-way do you? Kudos for the commitment. Nov 23 06 12:58 am Link no, not really, i just plan to work out more after the holidays Nov 23 06 01:46 am Link Terrified? No way... that's why my soul exists inside 200lbs of pink steel! Nov 23 06 01:49 am Link Yes. I was a fat kid and I hated it. I control my size/weight very well now. Funny I always lose weight around the Holidays instead of gaining. I think it's a rebellion thing. Nov 23 06 02:27 am Link I thought trading a six pack for a keg was a good deal.... Nov 23 06 04:11 am Link I guess everyone is kinda scared of gaining weight. I think I have really fast metabolism cos I seriously eat alot (more than alot of guys I know) and I don't exercise but I don't seem to gain weight very easily. That being said, I'm not stick thin, I carry a bit of 'extra' weight here and there but I think having a naturally petite frame helps me look small. Nov 23 06 04:35 am Link I'm unluckly compared to most of you and gain or lose weight by the day, simply on the amount I eat.. I guess I should exercise :p This christmas I think I'll lay off the chocolate and save myself for xmas dinner.. mmm Nov 23 06 05:57 am Link urheartsdesire2 wrote: I'm only 19, and my weight fluxuates about 7lbs a month, up and down - don't know why - it just does! But I always fit into my clothes and in a way I think I'm lucky - I know that with my gentetic heritage I'm never going to be skinny - so i don't feel any pressure to be - but if I'm sensible (i.e i don't eat an entire pack of cookies), then it would be pretty hard to get fat. I hate exercise also - soooo much. Give me a night in with my boyfriend and I'd say that would be enough exercise for me, or anyone ;-) Nov 23 06 06:44 am Link I'm not scared on putting on a few pounds, I'd rather enjoy myself and then just be careful with what I eat and do more excercise afterwards. Nov 23 06 07:03 am Link I am pretty active and typically no matter what I eat I remain around the same weight. I have always had a high metabolism. Even after having two kids. So I don't stress over gaining weight. Wouldn't mind a couple more pounds. Nov 23 06 07:30 am Link I don't want to gain weight. But I will stuff myself silly. I love food. I love the winter air so I plan to go on lots of walks and hikes. Should help keep the mince pies at bay. But if it doesn't, at least I will be thankful that I have eaten well, and enjoyed every morsel!! Nov 23 06 10:51 am Link I don't understand your post. Are you asking people if they're afraid to gain weight and that if they don't want their weight, to "bring it here"? Thanksgiving is a holiday, so I'm going to eat. It's really only one day of eating a lot, so I doubt I'll gain any weight -- most people don't. If you exercise regularly to help keep your metabolism up and working, you'll be fine. Nov 23 06 12:12 pm Link LOL. Weight gain can easily be avoided with self-restraint and exercise. I always have a _little_ bit of everything, including pie. :p Nov 23 06 12:31 pm Link lightsandshadow wrote: I was overweight at school too. And I was affraid to gain pounds back for some time. But after being very slim and getting a habit of regular exercising for years, these fears were gone. Nov 23 06 12:37 pm Link I don't realy eat carbs, but for christmas and new years I gonna be stuffing my face with pasta. oh yeah! and then back to no carb. Dec 31 06 10:24 pm Link I hate the holidays. I balloon if I let myself. blah, no more e z cheez for me Dec 31 06 10:38 pm Link exercise is your best friend Jan 01 07 07:11 am Link I can eat anything I usually out eat my guy friends I do however walk everywhere and don't drink soda (it makes you retain water) but its not to stay thin, I just don't want to feel bloated lol soo if you want to gain weight so desperately eat fried stuff: fries, chicken, everything else. drink your soda sit on your bum eventually you'll get something although i'm not sure if you really want to gain weight, or if you just posted this thread for attention like all the others.. Jan 01 07 07:27 am Link No. I have lost 43 pounds so far. I am not worried at all about the food at the holiday season. Bring it on and I will still lose more weight. bs Jan 01 07 11:57 am Link Stacey wrote: funny, i usually ea Jan 01 07 01:14 pm Link lotusphoto wrote: hahahahhahahaha Jan 01 07 01:52 pm Link mostly gain weight by gaining muscle mass.
