During yesterday's shoot I learned about Jeanloup Sieff and was greatly impressed by his album up to the point that I made a research on his work after coming home.

I think it would be great if you share your favorite famous photographers names. Please not name somebody that only you and few other people know, but somebody who already made it out there.

I do not mean to offend, just think that if we learn we should use something that is already well established.

Thanks.

Cool post.

Mine is John Rawlings.

From the publisher - John Rawlings: 30 Years in Vogue
"John Rawlings (1912-1970) was one of the most prolific photographers of the twentieth century, with more than 200 Vogue and Glamour covers to his credit, as well as an extensive roster of commercial ad campaigns. Rawling's work, perhaps more than that of any other mid-century American fashion photographer, distinguishes itself as a veritable time capsule from the era in which American fashion and American style truly came into their own."

I know I can always google. But we are community here, aren't we? And forums are usually for exchanging ideas/inspirations ...

Did my post bother or offend you in any way?

So many, and I've listed many in previous threads, but I'll throw out a few names anyway:

Juergen Teller
Mario Testino
Helmut Newton
Deborah Turbeville
Paolo Roversi
Mario Sorrenti
Peter Lindbergh
Horst Diekgerdes
Terry Richardson

As well as many others, too long to practically list without forgetting a few or simply crowding and confusing.

If you liked Jeanloup Sieff, I'd suggest, in a similar but slightly different vein, an often-forgotten French fashion/glamour photographer who passed away not too long ago, Jean-Francois Jonvelle.

Avedon has been my favorite for years. His sense of composition, light, and his way of capturing the decisive moment; I aspire to be as good as he was.
