This is, I suppose, a variant on the "no show model" theme, but it's a recurring issue. (I'm just analyzing--I think the only response is to move on...).

Model: Love your work, want to  shoot, can't wait.

Me: Sounds great..here are some ideas.

Model: Ok, that's fabulous, can't wait.

Me: Here are some potential dates,

Model:

One photographer likened this to the brass ring. The attention that the model gets through the adulation and back and forth is affirmation of her attractiveness, and allows her to feel desired and beautiful. At the end of the day, that is what she really wants. Once she has it, she needs little more.

Is that it?

discuss.

Slut?

What does that have to do with anything?

I thought you were shooting her, not dating her.

to be blunt , she did a shoot with a friend , before me a guy ive known 20 years.  after the shoot she asked if he wanted a  B.J.   for a extra hundred bucks.  she even told him he could be messy if he wanted.   call me old fashioned but thats not a model i want to work with.

yeah... can't say that someones promiscuity has anything to do with whether they're a good model or not, unless she was like how about I screw you instead of paying you... that would make sense.

its innaproppriate to boink the model  , thats why you have them bring a female escort.  you boink the escort while the model takes the pictures.

who, how often, or with what someone is screwing someone else has nothing to do with shooting them.  I just plain don't get it.

I think you're working in a very gray area there, mister.

She probably does it because it works. Do you blame her for seeking some extra cash?  She wouldn't continue asking if it wasn't a successful tactic.

Interesting topic. A psychological one I think; complex.
Yes some people do need constant validation and praise. They seek attention, that's a big part of the fake boob market. A big part of wanting to be the Maxuim cover, the pin up, even when there's no chance of it. Even a big part of collecting tags and comments on this site.
Don't think it was about you. You just have to read between the lines and realize who you were dealing with; what makes them that way is very complicated.

I wonder what that photographer would say about the same situation but with roles changed:

Photograher: You are awesome! Would love to shoot with you.
Model: Yes, your portfolio looks very interesting. Let's do it.
Photographer: Great! When you are available?
Model: I am available on .....
Photographer: dead silence (or writing a day before "sorry I have to re-schedule")

I've been in this situation couple times and could never figure out why such a sudden change? Is it something I posted in my port ? Or he ate for the dinner that night ?

Until I realize that there are people with this attitude all over the place, not only models and photographers, so I should just take it easy.

Funny. I've seen Photogs do this often too. Could it be, just possibly, that the brass ring theory hold true for *people*, not only the model subset?

Depends on the context. I have done pornography before, its not much fun honestly because I prefer to get into my partners mind and that can't be done in a matter of minutes. Doing it this way, no, I wouldn't do that, its unprofessional and not part of the negotiated shoot.

Seriously though, think about it. She wouldn't be asking if it didn't work. How many guys do you think go for it? Particularly the gwc types that are so thrilled to be allowed to take pictures of pretty girls anyway. She's smart enough to capitalize on a weakness. I don't think its a very good idea, but it obviously works. Can you blame her? Reverse it: Would you turn down $100.00 in cash if all you needed to do was get a blowjob?

Beats me. I've only had experience with flaky models, not photographers...

Interesting concept.  You won't work with a model because she offers an optional service in addition to what you would be paying her for.  Did "just say no" ever cross your mind?  She seems to understand it as an option, and there is nothing on the record to indicate that she is insisting on the extra as part of a photography deal.
