What's the deal with the chicks in gas masks?
Time and time again I have come across this theme, women in gas masks, usually nude and I just don't get it. Is there some meaning behind this, is it a fetish of some sort, war protest? Whats the deal? Nov 20 06 03:56 pm Link It's a fetish. Nov 20 06 03:58 pm Link Susi wrote: heh, thats a new one; ok thanks Nov 20 06 04:00 pm Link Protection? From photographers with flatulence? Nov 20 06 04:14 pm Link There are different fetishes for different people. Maybe you don't like the gasmask and it does nothing for you, but it does for someone out there. And, I've found that most people have a fetish...they think their fetish is the only normal fetish..lol. What I've learned is that all fetishes are created equal...repect each others fetishes because yours might be considered just as weird to some. Some people like gasmasks, some people like to be urinated on, some people like feet, ...I could go on and on and on...lol. Nov 20 06 04:21 pm Link well.... sometimes it has symbolic meaning.... my photograph has no fetish overtones in it at all Nov 20 06 04:22 pm Link Channon Rowe wrote: misogyny Nov 20 06 04:22 pm Link Nice Ravens:-) Nov 20 06 04:23 pm Link Homage to Edward Weston? Nov 20 06 04:36 pm Link For some, it is the confining nature of a gas mask which gives them appeal. Properly sealed, the thing is stuck to your face. For others, it is the fact that, depending on the mask, one can control the air flow which lends another arousal factor. Finally, for the sense depervation crowd, the mask muffles sounds, you can paint over the mask lenses to take away sight, etc. I'm not big on them but know people who are. In my state guard unit, we train with the M17 mask and those things are stuffy, hot, and I really don't like sweat pooling around my chin. hallopino wrote: Nov 20 06 04:44 pm Link Its related to the asphyxia type fetishes. Vixen. Nov 20 06 08:32 pm Link and lots of people feel creative, meaningful and artistic by aping themes they see repeated around them. Hence, caution tape, toilet pictures, wings, etc., etc., etc. Others like the humiliation and submission to someone peeing in a urine funnel fitted to the hose. It's not my cup of tea.
