Getting ready to shoot my catalog with a great photog.

Wondering how you would react if I asked about getting a shot, be it a portrait or candid, of myself for a "Meet The Designer"/bio page on my site.

Pushing it?  I don't want to come off as conceited.

I don't think it's pushing it.  It's great to put a shot of yourself up, makes people more likely to 'connect' with you on a more personal level.  It never hurts to ask, and no, it doesn't sound conceited.  You wouldn't be in the 'fashion' industry if you didn't like attention.

If the photographer can't handle that... then he's got some issues. They do stuff like that all the time.... the MU & stylist with the model, etc...

If they're shooting your catalog, I'd assume you're paying...

I can only speak for myself.  If I'm there, and my equipment is there, and I'm set up to shoot people, it's really not a big deal.  You could always ask.  Asking certainly wouldn't offend me. Most photographers would feel honored to take a designer's portrait.  It might cost a tiny bit more, if it wasn't agreed on previously, but I doubt it'd be unreasonably expensive.
