Photographers, please give me the name of any ad. agency you've shot for which involved model photography. I need this to be from shooters in the NY-Philadelphia markets only. This would be such a big help to me! Thank you to all who respond.

Just get the Advertising Redbook or visit AAAA.org or any of the other Advertising Agency/Industry associations. The lists are all compiled. Or, for more detailed information consider purchasing adbase.

Honestly, thank you for the help, but this information just lends itself to the do-it-yourself search frustration that drove me here in the first place. I was unable to find good leads on agencies that have routine, frequent need of models. That is why I asked if any photog. here shot for any particular agencies in the past. I need some direction. Please, any names of agencies you know that frequently use models, please reply with that info. Remember, just in the NY, PA areas. Thanks so much!

Funny, that. Good list. Hope OP realizes the problem with getting just agency list. Should be interesting phone calls.

This like models asking for commercial model agencies, yes?

Eric,

Great! This is what I meant. My agency is looking for places to promote their models to. This will get the ball rolling, I hope.

Excellent photography, Eric. It's what I aspire to. Just need to learn so much more!

Much obliged,

David

emphasis on the word some.

I don't know what's so complicated about Red Book, the AAAA, and professional organizations. Or Adbase and other similar.

If so, and he contacts the agencies I listed, he will get very frustrated indeed.  They are used to working with professionals who know the industry and approach it properly, with a real, marketable product to sell.  They won't give the time of day to a sluggo.

Hell, now days they don't give the time of day to anyone. Between voice mail and blackout on creative lists its difficult for the well know reps to get in to show work. Mostly they respond at the right time and place to a sporadic email update or a promo piece that hits their desk at the same time a layout does. If you don't have a class A web site forget it.

Good luck kid!

At least you have a reason to contact them, Bob.  What our OP doesn't seem to realize is that in the NY market most ad agencies do not make initial contact with models.  That's what photographers, casting directors and production companies do.  Calling them is the wrong point in the food chain.

true true.
however, i can just see someone adding the agencies on TX's list to a website 'client list' and talking way to many (albeit too-dumb-to-live) wannabe's out of fees, feelies, and fantasy.
i wasnt' worried about the ad agencies suffereing at the hand of a sluggo

exactly what i was thinking. those nigerian scams or those stupid webcam scams would sound a little more impressive and believable if they used the names of actual bookers at Storm or Next or whatever, wouldn't they?

I didn't see the part where he's trying to promote models. I read his first two posts and then yours and then responded. Silly me.

Hey kid, forget about it. TX is right, you're barking up the wrong tree. (did I really just write that)

And I'm sure he will be dropping the name of those offering as well.

Again, not worried about the poor defenseless ad agencies.
