No Nudes, No Topless
One Question: Why do models say "I DO NOT DO Nudes and or Topless" but in their port they have nude and or topeless images. Am i missing something here? Nov 09 06 07:37 am Link HUmby_G wrote: please search this topic... thers are several HUNDRED posts on it. Nov 09 06 07:38 am Link General answer - they won't model nude or topless indiscriminately, and it is easier to say "never" than to say "not with you." -Don Nov 09 06 07:43 am Link It's winter now, Maybe they only do nudes in the summer? Or more likely they got sick of MM trolls flooding their inbox insisting that it is a photographers god given right to shoot the model nude. Cause models arn't allowed to pick and choose who they shoot nude with. If you shot nude with photographer-X you must shoot nude with me! IT's the law.... Damit!!! Nov 09 06 09:31 am Link Sometimes, just for fun I will e-mail a random model who says "NO NUDES, DON'T ASK" and tell her, "Ok, this is what you're gonna do. You're going to shoot nudes with me. End of story. I have time this week. What day's best for you?" Sometimes they e-mail me back and tell me to fuck off. And that makes me laugh. But the real fun starts when they run to the forums and start a thread about it. Then they get all worked up and wind up saying stupid shit and in the end get themselves banned. Funny shit. Nov 09 06 09:33 am Link Maybe with a little coaxing, something to sweeten the deal? Nov 09 06 09:34 am Link John Jebbia wrote: Well technically you are respecting their wishes. You didn't ASK. Nov 09 06 09:38 am Link ...ok, ok, no "magic phrase" for me...except for the all-out artistic stuff, me being in shadow against the lights, sheer fabric-that last one clinched the deal. I bought a sheer robe and will do it again...I like the color and the fact of artistic stuff not being a mens' magazine cover. Nov 09 06 11:14 am Link D. Brian Nelson wrote: Ding, ding, ding!!! Nov 09 06 11:19 am Link I think if we put ourselves in the model's shoes, we'd soon find out why. Tons of e-mails go to the models that exhibit any degree of nudity or implied. We as photographers don't get inundated with bullcrap e-mails like they do. Imagine if we had a photo of a puppy (naked of course) in our portfolio, and every day we got 25 e-mails asking us if we'll shoot someone's puppy. Guess it could be like that. That being said...any models want some really GREAT quality nude photos? LOL Nov 09 06 11:23 am Link D. Brian Nelson wrote: on the same lines of thinking... Nov 09 06 12:58 pm Link HUmby_G wrote: It's their way of letting you know they don't have their act together yet. Do you really want to work with someone who isn't articulate enough to say "I do nudes on a selective basis with quality photographers"? Why would you want to work with someone who can't even explain themselves properly? Nobody's that good looking. Nov 09 06 01:11 pm Link they are stupid?? edit : oops sorry Melvin said that ;-) Nov 09 06 01:13 pm Link Anjel Britt wrote: I never said "stupid" -- I know plenty of really smart people who don't have their act together. Nov 09 06 05:08 pm Link HUmby_G wrote: Yes, you are. Nov 09 06 05:37 pm Link my question is: is it really necessary? do models really get inundated with requests for nudity? (I've only heard opinions, most from non-models). why must anything be said at all? It puts me off immediately when I see a profile with "NO NUDES!" It's like they are calling me a pervert, even though I'm not shooting (well, posting) nudes. and it's unprofessional. if someone asks for nudity, just say no (or yo)! Nov 09 06 06:30 pm Link Wow, that is why I love this site. Many kind people, here to help others. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your comments. You all have been very helpful. Thank you all Humberto ;o) Now please view my port and leave a comment or two . . . . Nov 09 06 10:48 pm Link Melvin Moten Jr wrote: I resemble that remark. Nov 09 06 10:51 pm Link ... >_< Edited to add: and yeah, for what it's worth, a lot of models ARE inundated with offers to shoot nude... and not only that but nude for TFP. I got a LOT more of that sort of thing when I started out; I think experienced models are less of a draw to that particular kind of photographer (the one giving the rest of you guys a bad name, and making models nervous about shooting without escorts). Inexperienced models are usually more easily manipulated, I'd guess. Until I put the "no nudes" thing in my portfolio, I still got them fairly often. Now? None at all. Maybe I just became fugly. :p Nov 10 06 12:22 am Link I shot a "No Nudes" model ... her b.f. was here to ensure that didn't happen (an escort, but a nice guy). Anyway, what she wore for the shot was a lot more suggestive than nudity. Finally, as we were wrapping up she ask if I'd shoot some shots of her b.f. and her. I said sure, why not. Well, she made him strip and got nekkie ...and the rest is history. /tim Nov 10 06 12:30 am Link i have some edited nudes. basicly because thats all i have. because i used to do nudes but i got out of that shit. i have better things to do with my life Nov 10 06 12:35 am Link |
