Hi everyone,

I am new to modelmayhem and have just been on for a week or so. I just received an email from Deola Sagoe Fashion House Ltd which I have attached at the bottom of this message. I typed the name in both google and yahoo search engines and a lot came up on the designer Deola Sagoe. I also tried calling them but the lines were busy all the time.

Just worried if it might be a scam, so decided to post on here asking if anyone has heard of them or received a simular email?

Please read the attachment and let me know what you guys think.

Cheers,

Kamil

If it comes from Nigeria, it's a scam.  Period, final.

Thanks Shyly,

I thought so as they say if its too good to be true then it is and since the name came up in the search engines I thought hmm maybe, but I know from being with my agency that designers only book models from proper model agencies so I thought I'd check. I am with an agency here in london but this is the first time I have put my self on a site like this as I wanted to meet more photographers in my area to build up my portfolio.

That link is very helpful Cheers for that,

Hope you had a good weekend,

Many thanks,

Kamil

I would assume that it's a scam as well.  As someone said before, a major designer probably isn't going to resort to internet models if they can get them from agencies.

It's a scam. I got the same e-mail a few times in my yahoo account. I am assuming they saw my modeling portfolio on here, and/or saw something on yahoo at one time. Either way, I steer clear of anything coming from Nigeria when it comes to either modeling or money.

This scam has been floating around for months. If you were to fall for it, you would soon be asked to send money to "secure" your travel and accomodations in Paris. They would come up with some totally bogus reason for you to send them money rather than just having them pay for it in the first place. But, of course, they woud reimburse you ..... sure they would.

Send them a nice letter and tell them that you have five million dollars that you must invest, and would be happy to deposit in their accounts, if only they would be so kind as to give you their account numbers and passcodes.
