My best work does not feature people, at least not people who are not rock stars.  My main focuses are concert photography and long exposures, I don't usually work with models.  My portfolio here is not very representative of most of my work, just a very small slice.

There's a lot of commercial work that I don't put in my portfolio - not because I don't think it's good, just because it isn't particularly interesting to anyone but the client.

On this site, I put the stuff that's germane to Modeling or Mayhem type themes.

I shoot bands but they don't belong on MM. I've been doing lots of documentary type stuff for aol lately..that doesn't fit on here either

Not exactly.

I put up things that I like.  Or maybe I want to see the reaction to certain photos.  I customize my physical book based on the client and the things I have here may or may not fit.

However, I do have a number of shots in my book that are similar to photos I have here.  Perhaps an image from the same shoot but a different frame.  I'm not really interested in having my physical book function as simply a printed version of what's online, I like for it to actually be different.

So while some are the same, most of them are different...

But if your work is mostly or entirely in line with MM (all with models, not explicit porn), why would you not want to show your best work?

I shoot local bands as well and depending on the lighting, I may post one here just beacuse I like it.

This is the lead singer of Betty X which is a Seattle hard rock band and this photo is on Betty's myspace account. It was also the first time I shot a band.

Just the images that represent the themes or looks/styles I'm going to explore through contacts here. Posting commercial editorial work isn't what I'm here to do, and other than the impact there'd be no point, I'm looking for models to collaborate with on specific projects. If they're interested based upon what's in the folio here then I know they're interested in the projects looks.

No.  I put good stuff here - stuff I'm happy with - but it's subject to various rules, so my best are prints in my folio and scans scattered around on my blog.

No. I even grunge up the B&Ws in a crummy scanner so they can not be stolen. Most of the images I put up here are images of people that mean something to me, the uploads are essentially cr@p.

Uh, because there is no reason to show one's best work on a freebie web site haunted by wannabee photographers and internet models. Like I said, I show the pictures here because almost each one has a story and when I see them it reminds me of the person behind the face. Very selfish I admit, but that's it.

same, sans the blog.  i have very few final images on the internets and the ones that are, are difficult to find through the google as they are client work without photo credit.

I mainly photograph inanimate objects.  I think my best shots were taken at night with natural light and no flash or artificial lighting.  The majority of what I shoot is individual objects in a studio with hot lights, not people.

I setup my "studio" once every month or so.  For me, the photos are a means to an end, not the end itself.  I do other things as my job.  Photos are not quite a hobby, not quite a job.

My camera is more like a toilet bowl cleaner in a building with no janitorial staff.  It just a necessary evil.  I learn a bit here on MM.  Thanks folks.

A lot of my work has nothing to do with models or modeling, so I'd say no.  I do need new stuff for here, that's for sure.

I find I usually put my recent work up on MM, and then I put additional photos on my website. I guess people with their own sites have that option...

My best and sexiest work is not on the MM site.

This is a model recruitment site for me so I put work up that gives models an idea of my style.

I like to keep my better stuff off the net. Especially after reading so many complaints last month of people swiping photos from MM. But even before hearing of that, I've always been like that. I like to keep it safe, I guess.
