When describing wardrobe to bring, is it Un-PC to describe a wifebeater tank top as such? I always feel like what if I say that to a former battered wife and she flies off the handle. I would rather use a different word for the attire, but I don't know what to use. Just saying tank top can mean so many things other than what I have in mind.

Jessalyn, your e-mail is being typed. I'm using the word wifebeater. Hope that's ok. Check in 20 min.

You know, I don't think I've ever seen, heard, or heard of anybody ever get offended by that, as odd as that seems...

No one's offended... yet. I just always feel weird using that word.

I had never heard that term until someone commented on one of my Kate images.

I call em tank tops (wifebeater style).. because until a couple of years ago, I had no idea they were called wifebeaters....   Typing this out now, it does seem a bit strange though... (I still haven't met a boy I could beat, still looking though)

I feel ya, I don't like to use that term either,I say man's tank style under shirt...
But it depends on the model, sometimes you can tell if it matters or not what you say and then sometimes the model will call it that and I'll just say yea thats fine.

I just tell them to bring their Jessica Simpson wardrobe... smile j/k.

I use wife beater or, women's undershirt. Ransom J is correct, they are called A-Shirts. Maybe after Mr T. and the A-Team ? lol smile

I just go out and buy some cheap A-shirts, leave them in the props bin, and can just about guarantee that a model will pull one out and wear it. "Oooh, wifebeaters," she'll say. So, I don't have to!

When I get tired of shooting them, I just hide the shirts for awhile.

Best thing is that when we destroy the shirt, the model doesn't mind (in fact, most are having giggle fits).
