Can't show them they're digital, lost them with my hard drive crash of '04.

Second set on Cd back up, can't read the CD for no apparent reason, have to love digital.

But still have my first film of people when I began photographing people Circa 1992.

What does that say for archival of historic pictures for future generations?

That says you need to learn the proper process for backing up your images. My images are on three hard drives in two locations. My house could burn to the ground, and the only images I'd lose are my old negs...

I actually have a pic or two that I took back in the late 1980s, when I made my first go at professional photography.

See if you can guess which ones they are (without cheating by looking at the date info I added!).  wink

First I got my Kodak DCS210 point and shoot. $800 for that puppy!

Then I got my Sony Mavica. The one that burned the images in camere onto a small CD. If you bumped it while finalizing it was all over. And the discs were about $5 each and NOT rewritable.

Then I got my Olympus E-10 and I was stylin'! Three count them. THREE ISO settings.

Are you done laughing at me now?

where are the out-of-focus boobies.

I started with an e-10 doing landscapes; then boobies kidnapped me.   I am trying to escape !

Umm.... there is no proper Digital storage, its hit or miss. And cd's only last for up to 5 years, Haddrives crash all the time..etc..etc.. etc...

Shoot the Gov even knows that, Why would they initiate a bill about it.

Film, You can rchive back over 100 years.. We are not ready for long term storage no matter what.

John!
I'm not sure what it is about that last photo, but I REALLY love it.  It's so 60's. Crappy camera, perhaps, but nice work smile

Long term storage..I just keep extra harddrives in a cool place..I try to get god prints of the stuff I love and have them framed, with UV glass covering to keep the sun or indirect light from fading them.

I wonder if I can save the old ones with some PS? Hmmmmm..

Theres a thought..

Back when I was a Nikon guy...

Was very nervous taking the shot.  My little P&S on a giant tripod.
