I hardly ever find a tweak that doesn't mess up my machine.  This one, explained in PC World's November 2006 edition works extremely well for me.  There are a lot of details in the article, but the process is really simple.  Go to http://www.opendns.com and follow their instructions.

The change has made MM load almost instantly over my DSL connection instead of painfully (and frustratingly) slow.
