GWC means "Guy With Camera." It's a derogatory term for amateur photographer. It usually implies that said guy is only interested in photography to get attractive ladies nakid in his home 'studio'.

It means you want people to pay attention to the thread. If you reply to a topic it goes to the top of the list and more people see it.

Typing "bump" is just an indication that the person wants the topic to get more attention.

Bumping a topic that is not near the bottom of the list on the first page, or hasn't rolled on to another page is disruptive.

it is a general occurance on all boards, not just MM and many times is used to bring an important subject to the forefront.
