People really do never cease to amaze me!

I've been doing shoots for a couple of years now, but my location and college responsibilities have prevented me from approaching agencies so that I can start actually working.  Does that mean I'm going to start demanding paid jobs only from others?  HELL NO!!  The day I start refusing TFP better be the day that I've reached the stardom of Alessandra or Heidi!!

And as far as the OP, that girl is ridiculous!  It's entirely unnecessary to require approval of shots before they can be used.  If there's a type of image she doesn't want getting out there, the simple thing to do is not shoot that type of image!

Wake up and smell the stupidity people.

Did she spell waist that way..?

Copied and pasted. However, I think it was sluggo who typed that. If you notice, her spelling was pretty good. Then when he chimed in it got worse..

John,

You should have known better than to contact her and her "manager" ( Husband ) she has always been a total flake and always will be.

Didnt we go through this with her once or twice before?

My first instinct was to ask if the "manager" really meant husband or boyfriend.

Wow....If I were a photog. I would have a rule against talking to models with internet managers...

If the model is going to work via a manager, then he/she should work via a manager.

If the model is going to work directly with the photographer, then she/he should do so.

Double teaming the client is a bad business tactic.  It is only done by those who have no sense of fairness in their business dealings.

In the future, this model should have the manager handle all details, or toss him.  Given his bad advice, tossing him would be best.

Anyone over the age of 18 on this site should be handling their own correspondence 100%, or state clearly they use a manager - and then use them.

As for approval of shots from a paid shoot, no.  The contract/release can have prohibitions to enforce limits (to prevent that GWC grabbed shot while the model is changing for example) but approving the quality and content is absurd.

I'm not sure I came across clearly in my post, but this is pretty much what I meant.  He just put it much better tongue

I agree, that's no manager, it's a boyfriend. A really stupid, sabotaging-his-girlfriend's-career boyfriend, who would probably insist on escorting her to the shoot, ruin any chance of the shots working, and then try to take his own pics over your shoulder while suggesting poses. Sigh.

What an awesome manager! He actually prevented this model from getting a paying job. Now that's what I call talent! Oh, wait... isn't he supposed to help her get paying work? And doesn't he need a license for that?

Why do these "models" listen to these idiots...?

That seems to be their main function.
I posted a casting call the other day for a paid liquor promo.  Rates around here are pretty standard for that.  I got a message from a sluggo that one of his girls would be perfect but the pay was too low, so would I like to offer more.  I asked how much (mainly for giggles) & he asked for TRIPLE the original offer.  I'm talking more than I could hire the average nude model for (at local rates).
I've had similar things occur when I've contacted other girls who didn't list a "manager" directly.  Occasionaly I hear from these girls later & they tell me they never heard about any of these jobs, the "manager" was choking them all off & she never even heard about it.
It's also amusing to see new girls pop up on OMP, approach them for jobs, and then suddenly they get "managed" and cancel plans & are never heard from again.
Sad, really.
