Yes... this is what I do EVERY time I do a shoot, without fail... the view that any model working with me sees when I first take the camera up and get ready to shoot...

You should practice taking off the lens cap so that it becomes a habit!!

hahaha You'd think I'd learn that...

Before shooting the model I'll even do lighting tests.. just take a picture of the background... then like a lemming... back goes the lenscap.

I don't see the hood. Do you use a hood on your lens? I remove my cap before I put the hood on my lens prior to shooting anything.

The 200mm zoom has a hood.  No hood on any other lens.

Although, then again, I rarely shoot outdoors so don't have to worry about flares in that scenario.  Outdoors is where the boogey man lives... I'm a scardey cat.  wink

So, how is Canon's new Fantastic Affordable?  I have a 20D as my main weapon and just started hearing the main specs on the XTi.

Well from my initial tests, it is underexposing a tad (maybe a 1/2 stop) but nothing I can't deal with.  If I shot in any of the automatic modes, it might be a problem, but I set the camera to "M" and leave it there.  smile

I'll be doing a full shoot with it soon to see how it works 'on the job'.
