Reason: not helpful Mar 18 15 05:07 am Link I hope you don't mind a little commentary. It's not fishing for votes, but rather just a share with like minded photog's... I'm not a pro'tog, and people are a secondary interest to me. Outdoor photography is my real love. I cannot tell you how many uncountable hours that me, my 5d and EF300 have sat at the waters edge for the past 3 years in search of a moment like I experienced 2 weeks ago. I have specifically been seeking a photo of a male pelican, gliding over the surface, banking over a wave, wing tips touching the water. I've had a lot of close-but-not-quite, images, and honestly, I was getting a little discouraged. So many times I have watched the sun rise and colors fade without opportunity, pelicans pass out of range, feeding frenzies take place and move on before I could catch them, and all those other things that photographers experience that ruin "the shot" but on the morning of March 8, all things came together. The morning sun was still low and rich in color. The bait ball was close to shore. The birds were everywhere. A couple 1000 frames, and dozens of smile later, I find myself in the position of my most difficult decision being which images to actually delete. There isn't much commercial potential for pelicans, but it was one of those mornings that will make the next 3 years more tolerable as I anticipate that next golden moment. The focus on this image isn't what I'd hope for, but the alignment was pretty special and I .... well, I just thought I'd share the story behind it in this little corner of MM where it might be appreciated more than in other areas of the forums. Wishin' y'all, many Happy Clicks...
