Yes, I am a passive agressive girl, but I jusrt kinda lost it a second ago. I was browsing through new ports and came across the girl who has done three shoots and lists Paid Work Only. Twice. This has been covered ad nauseum in the forums, but I thought why not take it to the street, old school style. Than I looked at my hands, realised once again that I am an overweight white girl, and... I tagged them with this, "Nice start portfolio, can't wait to see more professional shots. Welcome and good luck on MM Star" cause they are beautiful and maybe have some potential. But I can't tell from the few looks they have. Oh well, rant is now over. Let us all go back to the escort thread, Star

all stars are big and hot as you get closer to them...not to mention the others orbiting around...and everything on the orbitals depend on how close they are to the star... do you know what you are capable of? stars dont dream...they be.

I've had worse. I came across a portfolio that specifically stated "I will work in exchange for TFCD or TFP". I pitch an idea (granted it's a little crazy doing a swimsuit shoot in Oct, but I want the cold stark raw look) and the only reply I get is "How much are you paying me?" WTF for false advertising, to the ignore list she goes. I'll find someone taller. But I agree Star. Sometimes I just don't know about some people.

This isn't to call attention to two girls on MM asking for paying work. That would be unkind. It's true, Google doesn't work. However, I suspect that is just because their spiders haven't picked it up yet, since your quote on the post is identical to the comments you made on the two ports. It wasn't because you changed anything to preserve anonymity. Of the two girls, both are quite attractive, and both have professional shots. One of then says she has two years experience as a fashion model. She is the one who says she is only taking paid work "for now". The other profile doesn't even say that. There are many perfectly legitimate reasons why a person would choose "for now" not to take unpaid assignments. There are also many, many models who are seeking and getting paid work with only a small number of professional shoots. In mainstream modeling there is no requirement for lots of experience to be paid - you just need the right look, and both of these models have pictures that are just fine for judging their looks. I cannot for the life of me understand why people feel the need to rant on the forums because anyone, anyone at all, wants to be paid for modeling. These two, in my view, are very qualified to be paid. Even if they were not, what is the reason why they cannot ask it? It will work or it won't - how is that cause for a rant?

It seems to me that this should be filed under the "let the marketplace" decide. Me thinks there would be far less ranting if everyone just let the marketplace decide and leave it at that. (And now I'll return to my safe haven of "THE THREAD.")

This occurred after a planned shoot with her fell apart after I explained that I would not give any model unrestricted use of all the unedited full-res images from any shoot, but would prefer to work together with her to come up with a set that made us both look our best.

I'm pretty certain it was her Sluggo hubby/manager that changed the profile anyway. He was the one upset with the terms of my release. In our meet & greet, she let it slip that he handles all her online stuff anyway. (Don't ask me to out him. There's way too many on here to single out just one.)

I have mostly great experiences with models, but one thing is carved in stone. If you let me photograph you, the images are MINE. Not yours, mine. I decide which shots you see, which ones you get copies of, the size of those copies and how they were edited. I also decide how you may and may not use them. If you don't like any of these things being in a photographer's control, don't shoot with them!! If you will only shoot with certain agreements, that's fine- tell me what they are before we meet and we'll see if I agree to your terms- if not, no hard feelings. Decide BEFORE modeling. After the pictures are taken (despite what all the amateur lawyers here will tell models) there's very little you can do to about them. And when I say very little, I mean nothing. The rosy dream of threatening a photographer with a lawyer, etc., because they're using pics you don't like, is great- as a bluff. If they call the bluff, you can either take them to court, spend thousands and ultimately lose anyway (since they own the pictures, regardless of your model release or anything else), or forget about it. If it's obvious in the pictures that you were aware of and cooperating with the photos, then you're left with nothing to say (except perhaps you didn't get paid whatever was agreed on). Honestly, I mean this as a friendly warning to models. I've seen too many examples of what should have been obvious suddenly becoming a problem after a shoot (i.e. "You offer PRINTS for SALE of your work on your site??" said to a fellow photographer just after a shoot) and it's depressing. Think ahead.

people have a right to charge whatever they want, it's their face they might be silly to do it, but if they want to let them try who knows, some aliens from a planet with no models might come here, look at their portfolio first and pay all the models here.. could happen

I dare say I'm more flexible and generous than the majority of photographers out there (I hear a lot about what others are doing from models, naturally), but there's no way I'm giving out raw files to anybody.

A model really ticked me off once, so I sent her ONLY the raw files. No jpgs, no tiffs, just raw. Star

I totally understand why that angers you. There are local girls that I know through others that say in their ports that they're looking for paid work, but will except trade with exceptional photographers, yet the only good shots they have are ones they paid out the butt for and the rest are all amateur ones with poor wardrobe and poor hair/makeup work.Go figure! Might I add they're true beginners.I've been modeling for a few years and have never asked for paid work, I will just accept money if offered

Now *that* is friggin annoying, especially when you have set out and explained the images will be for the clients exclusive use. On the thread topic, I also think that people can rightly or wrongly choose payment methods, cash, prints, clothes whatever 2 parties will agree too, also same with styles, but if you come across a dreamer (and in all likelyhood someone with zero experience and looks to match) then you just pass them by.
