Free spellcheck for those who need it most. These are the most common mistakes I see on here: * It's not payed work. It's paid work. * It's not experiance. It's experience. * It's not refrances. It's references * It's not profetional. It's professional * It's not noodity. It's nudity. (Ok.. I made this one up.) This has been a public service announcement from your county library. Oct 02 06 06:46 pm Link Thank you. Honestly. Oct 02 06 06:48 pm Link It's [ b ] Oct 02 06 06:48 pm Link Thank you! I was thinking about posting something similar today also. You beat me to it. The noodity one is the best....I think I'm going to use it from now on Oct 02 06 06:48 pm Link Laura F wrote: I'm a profetional photographer with lots of experiance Laura. I'd like to get some great shots consisting of glamorous noodity. The compensation would be TFP, so it's not a payed gig. Interested? I don't like payed, but it's still correct. Oct 02 06 06:59 pm Link Thanx yo Jon !! LOLOL Oct 02 06 07:05 pm Link Let's not forget the proper use of guarantee as opposed to guaranty. Oct 02 06 07:05 pm Link When you relate what someone else has said or written, that is a quotation, not a quote. A quote is the punctuation mark that identifys quoted sections of text. Oct 02 06 07:08 pm Link Of course if MM had a Spell checker in it's system that would fix it all. Oct 02 06 07:21 pm Link Stephen Melvin wrote: Well actually he IS grammatically correct. With "it" referring to MM and the " 's " applying possession, "it's" is perfectly acceptable in the context it was used in. Oct 02 06 07:23 pm Link I may be wrong, but.. It is not payed.... is the same thing as it's not payed If you're saying that I should have left the apostrophe out, then that is incorrect. I saw its tail, for example, would be correct. I'm pretty sure I was correct the way I used it. Oct 02 06 07:28 pm Link yawn "I'm board.." (as seen numerous times on the announcements lol) ( I love this thread ) Oct 02 06 07:34 pm Link Ransom J wrote: '"it's" is a contraction for '"it is" and is never used as possession. "Its" without the apostrophe is used to designate possession. Oct 02 06 07:38 pm Link So are we all in agreement that I was correct to begin with? Oct 02 06 07:40 pm Link John Jebbia wrote: No, you'll always be wrong. Oct 02 06 07:42 pm Link DigitalCMH wrote: Sounds like something my mother would say. "It's" means "it is." Nothing else. Oct 02 06 08:06 pm Link I can't believe people are actually arguing over this nonsense. Seriously, being a writer/author I am extremely anal retentive about spelling and grammar. But it's really not that important unless you're being graded. If you don't like the way someone spells then just keep on going. It's does mean "It is" but in this case (sorry, I have to correct here) the way he used it is absolutely correct. It would be the same thing as if he'd typed "It is not noodity, it is nudity" Rawr! Oct 02 06 08:10 pm Link Stephen Melvin wrote: Correct. Oct 02 06 08:11 pm Link I couldn't agree with you more...My spelling on the other hand is impeccable Oct 02 06 08:15 pm Link e-string wrote: If we're being really anal.. this one is open to some debate, but "payed" is 90% archaic. The only sense that's still commonly accepted is as the past tense and past participle of pay "to let out (a line or cable) by slackening". So in the sense he meant it, I would consider it incorrect, but I admit not every dictionary will restrict it to that meaning. Oct 02 06 08:26 pm Link Stephen Melvin wrote: Not sure what we are debating here. Oct 02 06 08:31 pm Link Ok so some of us can't spell and I am sure some can't add but why rub it in out noses. Oct 02 06 08:31 pm Link NO! We can't have spell checker on MM! If we did, it'd make those of us who are dumb as rocks appear to be intelligent. How then would models or photographers ever be able to form an opinion of someone they haven't met yet? If some model tells me she doesn't due noodity unless their is a good reason for it and it's a pade gig and its artystic and everything, and only if it doesn't show her privites...well, then I have this "opinion" of her. Spelling is just one tool I can use to see if she seems able to actually have a brain. I prefer those, otherwise I spend most of the shoot saying, "No, your other right hand". Oct 02 06 08:34 pm Link My other right hand belongs to Batman. I'm Batman. Oct 02 06 09:19 pm Link DigitalCMH wrote: Oct 02 06 09:19 pm Link Stephen Melvin wrote: Stephen Melvin wrote: No, he IS not.
