I don't understand. I should feel safe with bringing along a friend. And since it's the first time meeting them why should I have to shoot nude?

You (or your wife I guess) might want to read this:

Just my opinion, the topic doesn't really warrant a new thread.

Aloha well it is up to you on what you shoot. me personally i only shoot nude to semi nudes unless paid. So do what you want and that is that. There are allot of photographers out there who would love to work with you and give you what you want. And as far as an escort better to bring a girl than a guy. We as photographers like to feel safe as much as you do. But that is just my opinion on that. Just look at the persons work and then decide if you want to work with him. And do a background check ie reference check people he or she worked with. Well hope that helped a little take care and god bless.

Who said you "have to" model nude? You don't "have to" do anything.

You will get requests for it - like anything else, say no if you don't want to do it.

I understand.  Here's how I do it.

I would only require you to arrive to the location nude.  And no escorts. Although if your escort is hot, she would have to arrive nude as well.  And if she's hotter than you, you can go home and I'd shoot your escort nude.

Simple, huh?

because you were born nude and thats the way all models were born. Your friend has to be nude as well.

Its in the rulebook, page 56, paragraph 3.4C.

Nude is in. Clothes are out.

You don't 'have' to shoot nude. That's your choice, not the photog's. If she/he doesn't want to photograph you clothed and you don't want to shoot nude, find another photographer. There's plenty of 'em.

I guess in this day and age, even the obvious has to be explained.

Your bio says you don't do nudes.  Don't work with photographers who either cannot read or want to push you beyond what you are comfortable with.

Here's why I think that nudity is so prevalent (however the fuck you spell that) on the net.

1) There are many photographers here who run small portrait studios. They get paid by families, aspiring actresses/models, grandmothers, graduates, etc. This is their job. Most of these people are not walking into the studio and stripping down for their photos. So to shoot headshots or something boring like that for free (read TFP) that would be just more work for them which they're not getting paid for. So, if this is the stuff you want then make an appointment and come in durring business hours, pay us, and it shouldn't be a problem.

On the other hand, these same photographers join communities like this to shoot the stuff that they don't normally get to shoot. The fun stuff. Often the fun stuff is more artistically inclined, often includes some sort of skin-a-bility. This doesn't seem so much like work and they're more inclined to shoot this stuff for free (read TFP)

2) The other reason nudity is so prevalent is that it is the easiest way for a photographer to make a quick buck, on the net anyway..

On the no escort issue. Many escorts are jackasses and they make the fun stuff more like a job. See above.

That's ridiculous.  I allow no escorts on nude shoots and usually not otherwise. By your twisted logic, I am then trying to get into the pants of the models I shoot nude with?  Again, ridiculous! Nude models don't wear pants.

Seriously, I'll happily compare my results of closed-set shooting with those photographers who blindly allow escorts onto their set. Or those who burn everything onto disc and hand it over to the models.

Getting into someone's pants is highly over-rated.

PS. Why is this type question always asked by someone with Myspace quality photos? I like how they think they can come in at age 18 or 19 and think they're gonna single-handedly change the way we've been doing things for years.

I was really hungry for popcorn once and I'm sure I had heard popping noises coming from the models pants.

That may also be true, but even if you werent nude and had an escort there- would I be opposed to the idea of getting in your pants, Heather?  No

The simple facts are:

why nude?  cuz less models openly admit do nudes than dont- its supply/ demand.  Every girl and their mom poses maxim style tfp.  Nude is in demand cuz its harder to come by.

why no escort?  cuz they are extraneous to the shoot- there are other ways to keep you safe- check refs, have a crew/ mua there, work with good shooters, have someone know where you are, etc

True.  But unless the "some model" is really a "some thing," which most aren't, this whole getting into a model's pants pursuit is pretty lame.

I mean, let's be real here.  Many internet models are "cute" as in girl-next-door cute.  Increasingly, some aren't very cute at all.  Or attractive.  Or have any redeeming quality that I can see.   So, it's pretty pathetic that there seems to be a stampede by a bunch of dudes (and maybe some chicks) dedicated to schtupping a model.

A-FUCKING-MEN!

It trips me out that so many models assume that every photographer WANTS to get in their pants so bad.  Professionalism aside,  to some of us you're just not this drool inducing specimen of goddessness that you assume that you are.  Cute? Yes. Photograph well? Certainly. But certainly NOT the irresistable creature many of you think you are.

True, True, True
Let’s face it the qualities we look for in a model don’t necessarily match with those that we seek in a sex partner.

And, yes it is rather pathetic to see those poor bastards that need to validate themselves by “schtupping a model”

My biggest peave is watching photographers and models beat the snot out of each other verbally all day long on this site about THINGS THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE.

There will always be perverted photographers.

There will always be flaky models.

Breast implants are here to stay.

Escorts are a fact of life. LIVE WITH IT.

Some shoot TFP, but it's not for everybody

Some people like nudes, other people are offended by them. It is what it is.

Beating your head against the wall about things that will never change only drives YOU slowly insane. Certain things are with us forever: death, taxes, seat belt laws, crooked politicians, people that roll through stop signs, etc.

These things will not go away.

  Face it.

  You'll sleep better.

Also, you might want to change your 'Midnight Desire' moniker to something that is less sexual and more professional. Well, depending upon what profession you're in...

I stand corrected. Kim, you have taken what I thought would be another lame escort thread to a new level. Nice visual, by the way. A few aspiring damsels being chased by hoardes of perspiring dudes and dudettes.

my opinion , im married i would not let my wife do a unescorted nude shoot.  if you will go unescorted your probably single , not that the photog. will get laid its just that they can be more inappropriate.    i would do nudes with your dad as a escort it doesnt bother me.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.  I'm shooting not one but two unescorted married models at my next shoot, both of whom are travelling from different states to work with me.  Don't put it on photographers because you don't trust your wife...That is your personal problem which I refuse to be held accountable for.

Exactly.  Being Married has nothing to do with whether a model SHOULD or SHOULDN'T be escorted.

The fact that he's saying he wouldn't "let" a grown woman do what she might in fact want to do shows the problem oh so clearly to begin with.

I always do no photos or nude escorts.  Might of had this backwards.

And speaking as a guy who just quit his job in a woodshop because he cut off a fingertip and no longer feels safe around saws, let me say this.

IF YOU DONT FEEL SAFE AT YOUR JOB, QUITAND DO SOMETHING ELSE
