Looks like I've been hacked!
All free email accounts (yahoo, hotmail, etc) suddenly went AWOL with passwords. What happened??? What can be done??? Sep 29 06 03:31 am Link well ,thats really gotta suck, never heard of a hotmail account going terminally missing, touch wood. Sep 29 06 03:45 am Link I'll change your passwords back for $1,000,000 Try spysweeper or ad-aware Sep 29 06 03:46 am Link I'm not sure if you're going through what I went through but it sounds like it. A couple of months ago someone changed my password on my hotmail account and it wasn't me. I never gave anybody the password. I contacted hotmail and they wanted every piece of information which is a good thing, however, how am I supposed to remember the exact date I signed up? I still haven't been able to get into it. Have any of you been having problems here on MM? I know it was mentioned in the site reports forum but a lot of us have been all of a sudden thrown off our accounts. You'll be looking around MM then you'll come to something that says you don't have permission to access something and it says your account was denied. Then you have to logout and sign in again. Sorry not trying to hijack your thread. Sep 29 06 03:55 am Link Sounds like the same thing, except all three free email accounts got hit at once. We've had trouble with the ex-wife before and I suspect she's at it again. No trouble with MM tho. Sep 29 06 04:12 am Link I'm a website programmer and the MM error was a loss of sessions. Once you logged out and logged back in it fixed itself. Its just that most people dont know do to that to fix it. It would be unrelated to anything that happened on any other sites. In your case I'd be looking at exes Sep 29 06 04:21 am Link Maxwell Digital Art wrote: I am, but what can one practicably do? Sep 29 06 04:26 am Link That's very strange. It is possible someone with access to your computer has installed a keylogger and now has access to all your accounts. (And also, all the history of what you browse and such) If you use the same password for all 3 perhaps someone had guessed it, and gone under all accounts. If there's a robot form on your computer (That saves/stores passwords and logs you in instantly) Could have gotten your passwords that way as well. I suggest you go to add/remove programs and check for suspicious programs (Or ones that may have adware/spyware and monitor your system) It's always good to have up 2 firewall's and run spyware/adware/virus scans often. If you need a good free virus scan (that fixes a lot of errors check out the following site) http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp I also had that problem with MM (I ended up with someone else's photos but unable to access anything) Logging out fixed it instantly though. The forum scripting might have some holes in it. Just curious, to all the people that had errors with that. How many of you use AOL? Sep 29 06 04:52 am Link Sounds like a problem with a boyfriend or an ex. You really don't need to know much about someone to have those passwords given to you. Anyone that really knows you can get them. but going threw the "I forgot my password" deal. Maybe a keyloger on your computer but that would only be there is one of those people had a means of installing it on your computer. Sep 29 06 04:56 am Link Sounds more like someone grabbed her computer as a zombie and ML's free mail accts will be busy sending spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam,................. some reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombie_computer http://antivirus.about.com/od/whatisavi … mbiepc.htm Examining a computer that is infected... an example: http://tweezersedge.com/archives/2005/02/000534.html Studio36 Sep 29 06 05:37 am Link studio36uk wrote: It's the other white meat?
