Shoot.. 3 days ago...

(Keep in mind, I'm standing about 10 feet away from the model and we're talking fairly loud in the client's shooting area.)

Me: "Okay.. I need you to sit on the edge of the laise and have your knees towards me.  Your left leg should be a little higher than your right leg and both should be at a slight angle out from the seat."

Her: "Hmmm... I don't get it."

Me: "Okay.. see how you're sitting?  Now face me... right.. now turn your hips to your left... no.. your other left..."

Her: "Shut up"

Me: "Now keeping your knees together, push them right up against the side of the chair.  Good.  Now let your right leg relax and and move your right foot away from the chair.  Remember, I'm tring to emphasize your legs."

Her: "Like this?"

Me: "Kinda"

Her: "Can you show me?"

Me: *sigh*

At this point she runs over to me at the camera so "she can get a view" of what the look is...

I take a seat and hit the pose.

Me: "And your hands will be slightly overlapping on your mid thigh like this"

Her: "What about my face?"

Me: "Well you're going to be looking off to the right like this..."

*CLICK*

Me: "What was that?"

Her: "Nothing" and snickering like a fox in a sheep herd.

Me: "Did you take a picture??"

Her: "No" vaguely trying to keep her laughter in.

Me: "If I come over there and see a new picture .. I'm gonna add 20 lbs to your pictures in photoshop"

Her: "But you look sooooooo cute and soooooo sophisticated!!"

Client comes by...

Client: "How goes it?"

Her: "Great!  take a look at this!!"

Me: "NO!" starting to scramble to the camera

Client and Her... *PISSING THEMSELVES LAUGHING*

Client: "Need to show more skin"

Me: "I hate my job and I hate both of you."

Let's see.. this is about mischevious models... *looks at your profile*.. and you're a model... NEVER!!!  With my luck you'd have it somehow made as the MM banner

c'mon you knew someone would ask....  honestly, the episode does read funny in hindsight although I can imagine being a tad pissed at the time; guess it proves one needs a sense of humor in this business

Never, EVER, under any circumstance, ever ever ever step in front of your own camera while someone is near the launch button, pictures will get taken. . . belly laughs will be heard.

However, funny story, glad your client was humored by it.

Cheers,

Leo

Nah.. life is too short to stress over stuff like that.  I always have a fun time with the models I work with which is why I keep getting referals.  I was laughing in this situation.. it was pretty funny.

But the shot looks rediculous and no... you'll NEVER be seeing the image.

I did that to my assistant once. I had him demonstrate a pose that he knew, that the model wasn't getting. I snapped the shot :-)

I feel for you. I have regrets in talking my MUA into getting a Nikon D50.  I'm certain I was setup when our model asked me to show her some poses and next thing I know, the MUA is taking photos.  I hate her.

You'll need to ask her for the photos though.  I checked her MySpace and they aren't up anymore.

See - ya almost gotta show it now.

Otherwise some sharp types will be posting their "Dramatic Re-Creations" of the event.

And that would be about a MILLION times worse than the reality.

(Hint - the emergency fall back position - "I accidently erased that card - sorry guys")

Thanks so much for the chuckle - when I demonstrate poses - I usually end up falling off the boulders - and that keeps the models in a good mood

and then, I shoot a lot of "God, you're a dumbass!" expressions for some reason . .  . .

Oh yeah!  I forgot... ummm... there wasn't any space left on the memory card.... no.. no wait!... uhh... there was  no memory card!  That's it!

You have no idea how many raised eyebrows with scrunched up nose bridges I have when I say something goofy and I get that "What the fu..." look.  smile
