Pretend i am an art director, would you land this job?

exercise:  ad agency ABC needs to find a photographer and  2 models male and female for their client,
Marvel Comics, they are looking for villains (people you would not want to meet in a dark alley)  and an edgy dark photographer with a slight comic book style,  it is for print in a national gaming publication that has a young teen audience, and there is a good budget.,,,  * this is not about the money or the usage rights < lets say its great.

As the pretend art director,  i need to show my client about 5 examples of photographers and  10 models, (5 female  and 5 male)  for the final selection to bring to my client.

here are some things i am looking for

photogs

1. confidence you can do the job
2. ability to shoot dark style images of people well with a comic book edge.
3. ability to light entire scenes,  your over all talent.

models

1. confidence you can do the job
2. your scare factor is key, i need to believe you are a bad ass and dangerous
3. i need a scary look

I'll make my picks in a couple of days, and also say who got the job.

Also if anybody else wants to say who they would hire and why that would be great to.  This is totally open.

its ok to post shots in that are not in your book but that you would show for this job.

Good Luck!

I doubt I would get a no-prize.

Dark has always been more interesting for me though:

The more the better. It's all about attitude.

If you have:

A model who can act....even for stills.

A photographer who can "block" a shot even if it's not in motion.

A synergy between the two.

We're talkin' Black Widow from Ultimate Avengers here..... :-)

Most people tonight are interested in talking about curvy vs slim or bondage. This is actually more fun.

Dressing in tight clothes and having a weapon doesn't do it for what was described. There has to be presence.....

Like maybe here (not mine, AND haven't worked with her.....yet. But still a cool pic)

Can I play?!?!

Okay, this time rather than be the guy who knows high people in little places, I rather be the son of a pair of celebs who uses a point-&-shoot and everyone raves about who probably would never have been noticed if not for his parents?  Can I please?  I have always wanted to be that guy.  Really, I have...

I can totally play this game -- dark is my middle name! And like E-String, I too like comic books and graphic novels. How about a shot of Comic Book Guy turning his nose up at some super hero's sidekick? OK.. maybe not, but it would be funny. Or, how about said sidekick unloading an Uzi into Comic Book Guy's overly rotund abdomen? That that could be a good image...!

Pick me! Pick me! How's that for a sales pitch?

Thanks for playing along, i'll close the list in a day or two and then decide who gets the job.

Iris Swope (or anyone): if you want, play along as another AD,  when the list is closed,  look at everyones port, consider the job and pick the top five in each category.

Sincerely,

Clay Pigeon AD

thanks guys, but where are the male models? Is it all "the hero", supermen type on MM?

i might need to redefine the job description if we dont get any male villains today, lol.

you think i lost them with "villain" in the title, i should have said "bad guy"  dooh.

Hah. I think they might fall for the "bad boy" as opposed to villian.

Okay, you want a super hero I'll give you a super hero (and a sidekick). You must forgive the totally krappy lighting; I was in "paparazzi" mode that evening when I spotted them at a local hotel and I had to shoot very quickly. I was actually hidden behind a large potted plant. Unfortunately the TIck mistook my flash as "naughty spawn" and started to attack. Luckily, Arthur convinced him otherwise and I was able to make my escape while he was explaining the concept of a camera to him.

  Whew!

https://www.visi.com/~loki/tick/images/Img0014073.jpg

And for villains, how about this hot chick? Keep in mind I was in extreme danger when I took this; imagine being a lone in the studio with Poison Ivy? Well... actually it wasn't that bad... heh heh...

That's true; they are DC. But the clients at this point are simply looking for photographers and models that can do the job. And I actually photographed the real Tick, Arthur and Poison Ivy. I'm also friends with Wonder Woman and Chiana (from "Farscape." Hey -- she's a super hero... at least I think so).

  A-yep!

off topic....

I always wanted to do the 60's Vampirella.Shes got little boobs like me ... smile I own 2 first issues and 1 -86, of course when they made her a super hero as opposed to a hostess, she got a boob job. LOL
I always thought she would have made a better villian.
I also have an affection for and the Tarnakian form Heavy Metal ( movie)
Shes just bad ass.Even naked.

Methinks you should use your super powers and travel here to Minneapolis! I'd totally work with you on those concepts! I saw a girl at a sci/fi convention in a Tarnakian costume; in fact, I think I have a picture of it somewhere. And she was hardcore; she was wearing a thing and not worried about not being covered (some people wouldn't have).

Right. Back to the topic at hand! Woohoo!
