I'm thinking of changing my photography name to David Coverdale.  What do you think?

Why?

Are you joining the Foreign Legion or something?

I also have to ask, why?

If you're having problems with being confused with someone else, or have somehow developed a bad reputation, sure, change your name. But if not, why change it? Why not create a business name/studio name? Personally, here's how I see things, but I can be pretty narrow focused:

Ford, Starbucks, Macy's, IBM, - they haven't changed their name for a long time, if ever (ok, so IBM moved from a name to initials, but...)

Puff Daddy, Puffy, Sean Puffy Combs, Sean John, P Diddy, Diddy - how many more... This guy changes his name everytime something wrong happens.

BTW - isn't David Coverdale the musician from Deep Purple and Whitesnake?

Just another 2 cents from me,

I knew a guy named Joe Fuck who wanted to change his name.

When the judge asked what name he wanted to use his reply was, Bob Fuck.

Astounded, the judge asked why in the world he wanted to be named Bob Fuck?

My friend answered, because I'm sick and tired of people saying "hey joe, whadda ya know".....

The reason is because I don't think Winner is a "photography" name.  There are a lot of performers, authors that use a stage\pen name.  Maybe I just want a "lens" name.  (I think I want to coin that phrase)

I don't have a bad rep or anything like that, just want something more marketable.  Coverdale is the last name of my brother-in-laws girlfriend.  David just sounded good.
