So when is it porn and not "artistic nudes"?
But from a photographerâs point of view-what is appropriate and what is not? Reply: From this photographers point of view, appropriate is anything both the model and photographer have mutually consented to shoot prior to the shoot commencing. In addition, I believe the photographer has the responibility to be aware of the individuals motivation to model for certain types of shoots especially with new models. I feel the vast majority of professional photographers do this without even thinking. We are in the business of photography...not exploitation. And from a modelâs point of view-what is going too far for a model who didnât sign up for an erotic photoshoot? Reply: Anything a model didn't sign up for and mutually agree to prior to the shoot is going too far. The caviat to this statement, again this is my opinion, is when eroticism has been discussed prior to the shoot and ruled out by the model and then due to the rapore and confidence established during the shoot with the photographer...the model brings up feeling comfortable and at ease and requests the photographer to go beyond those pre-established boundaries of their own free will. Most of the best pics I have ever taken have come from being sponanious, adaptive and trying someting new. Hopes this helps ![]() Sep 09 06 04:20 pm Link Some see porn in the stranges places...some say what I shoot is porn, others a fetish, still others erotic. I don't think it's porn, but I won't try to change someones mind that thinks it is...they see what they want to see...the "line" gets blurred when morality meets art. Hmmmm Sep 10 06 01:10 am Link There is no difference. Historically speaking when Pompeii was first uncover there was a lot of controversy since almost all the walls were covered with "PORN" and those had to be kept secret. Now they're consider art. Also I saw a documentary of a photographer that shot porn stars both clothed and nude. Soon it won't matter. Think about Tracy Lords going mainstream or Jenna Jameson becoming more mainstream. Or Chloe Soigney(sp) doing the bj scene in Brown Bunny a mainstream film. Also a director shot a mainstream film just recently using full sex in the sex scenes. Of course this is for America. The French have many people creating great works of art, movies and stills that include hardcore scenes. Or even think about Andrew Blakes films. Hardcore but definitely artsy. We are all to busy with labels. The thing that does matter is the communication between the model and the photographer to make sure they are both on the same page as to what they are looking for in the shoot or what is acceptable to each.
