Ok, so I have been setting up a shoot for weeks. The models have all known that it was several locations.

Now, and not a joke, 4 out of 6 models is letting me know that a ride is going to "drop them off" at the meet site.

How exactly do they expect to get from Chinatown to Hollywood? My car hold 3 people, including me, and wardrobe and lights?

This is getting to be a new pet peeve for me, models who submit for projects, confirm dates and only than inform me that they have no way to get around.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Change the meet site to the shoot location.

No, I've never had this problem. I always meet at the shooting location.

lots of models I'm in contact with don't have cars.  But then again I dumped mine when I liberated myself from Southern CA.

The people knew it was two shooting locations, one in Chinatown one in Hollywood. I had to get the stupid hotel room cause no one was willing to let people meet at their house. And while my house is nice it is in Pomona.

a 2000 red mustang convertable GT. One seat for me, one seat for my passanger, one seat in the backseat, one seat with a gigantic suitcase of wardrobe, trunk filled with 2 film cameras, 1 digital camera, location studio strobe, travelpack, spare batteries and water.

Save some money... get one of those motel rooms that you rent by the hour. LOL

Make the makeup artist shove some models in their car.   That should be good for a thread or so.

I have a '96 Mustang, which I got specifically because it was Purple. OH, wait, no, I got it because it had more than 2 seats (compared to a Miata)...but I don't have strobes, so I guess I can't compare....
I loaded it with 3 fat guys one time...and it would barely drive, lol...dragged on bumps, etc....
ok.
now I'm bashing fat people...I should stop smile

Hood ornaments get stolen very quick in Hollywierd and in Chinatown. It would be better to tie them to the bumpers.. but to save on gas.. tie them on a leash.. and make them push... or just run alongside  the car on the freeway. (good exercise??).

How can anyone exist without a car????? As much as I hate them....you need them to get around to places where no public transport takes you. And in California of all places where it looks like everyone owns two per person.

From 2002 until early this year I had no car in Southern California.  Only motorcycles.  I could feasibly carry a model around along with my camera gear, but that's pretty presumptuous.

I planned my photoshoots around that using only one location per shoot, either my studio or a hotel room.  Or infrequently, the model's home.

Logistics is everything.

Next time only use models that insist on showing up with an entourage, er, escorts, and make cart the models around.
