A brand spankin new pet peeve
Ok, so I have been setting up a shoot for weeks. The models have all known that it was several locations. Now, and not a joke, 4 out of 6 models is letting me know that a ride is going to "drop them off" at the meet site. How exactly do they expect to get from Chinatown to Hollywood? My car hold 3 people, including me, and wardrobe and lights? This is getting to be a new pet peeve for me, models who submit for projects, confirm dates and only than inform me that they have no way to get around. Has anyone else run into this problem? Star Sep 08 06 02:40 am Link Change the meet site to the shoot location. No, I've never had this problem. I always meet at the shooting location. Sep 08 06 02:42 am Link lots of models I'm in contact with don't have cars. But then again I dumped mine when I liberated myself from Southern CA. Sep 08 06 02:47 am Link The people knew it was two shooting locations, one in Chinatown one in Hollywood. I had to get the stupid hotel room cause no one was willing to let people meet at their house. And while my house is nice it is in Pomona. That should be good for a thread or so. Sep 08 06 03:33 am Link tie them to the hood ![]() Sep 08 06 03:40 am Link Star wrote: I have a '96 Mustang, which I got specifically because it was Purple. OH, wait, no, I got it because it had more than 2 seats (compared to a Miata)...but I don't have strobes, so I guess I can't compare.... It would be better to tie them to the bumpers.. but to save on gas.. tie them on a leash.. and make them push... or just run alongside the car on the freeway. (good exercise??). Sep 08 06 06:52 am Link How can anyone exist without a car????? As much as I hate them....you need them to get around to places where no public transport takes you. And in California of all places where it looks like everyone owns two per person. Sep 08 06 07:00 am Link From 2002 until early this year I had no car in Southern California. Only motorcycles. I could feasibly carry a model around along with my camera gear, but that's pretty presumptuous. I planned my photoshoots around that using only one location per shoot, either my studio or a hotel room. Or infrequently, the model's home. Logistics is everything. -Don Sep 08 06 08:25 am Link Next time only use models that insist on showing up with an entourage, er, escorts, and make cart the models around. Sep 08 06 08:35 am Link one if a trillion reasons i didn't get along with los angeles. Sep 08 06 08:36 am Link at least they want to show up! Sep 08 06 08:39 am Link Where are you gonna put the model's escorts? Crap, wrong thread. Never mind! :-) Sep 08 06 08:39 am Link |
