I dunno but at the age of 35 , if one more kid  comes up to me and tells me i should be one i think i will die...

commit suicide ... whatever...

discalimer : Kid equals 17 year old trying to get into a bar / 18 year old yelling out of his car window while headbanging ... etc ... not 17 / 18 yr old people on mm who have a desire to grow as a model...mua or whatever.

I don't know what Suicide Girls are. Well, other than the obvious, girls who commit suicide.

Any chance this means SG will embrace good photographers and pay them a fair rate?
Or do we think Playboy is just looking for some free/cheap images and a younger demographic?

If SG wanted us to take them seriously why did they call themselves suicide girls?

Who is "us?" Given your age, location, and apparent photographic interests, I'd guess they don't care if you take them seriously or not.

They started out as a more or less authentic alternative porn site. "Suicide Girls" is a great name for their target demographic, it implies a certain fuck-your-expectations nihilistic approach to art and life. In the words of the great philosopher, "You say you don't get it? That's because it's not FOR you."

Then the money got big and the cojones got small and they turned into Playboy with more tattoos and piercings, so I guess it's a good matchup anyway.

They're girls who spent way too much time and money on tattoos and piercings, and now realize they have to make money to get more.

Just kidding.  They're really girls that call themselves 'alternative', but they still wouldn't have dated me in h.s. (I put my h.s. photo on my port).

If suicide has a partner, doesn't that constitute murder? Or a conspiracy to commit murder?

A thought...

Just SG making another deal with the porn mongers. Playboy "ONLINE" is not Playboy as in print.

Well, it's fitting...the pierced, inked, shoe-polish-black-crop banged, aunt irma glasses-wearing set are analogous to the bleached, teased, siliconed, airbrushed bimbettes of yesteryear...

Independant, authentic, and unique suicidegirls was...for about 2 months, in 2002.

So what's the next indie-alterna porn going to be?

Playboy and SuicideGirls tried the online thing a few years back, but the two demographics didn't mix at all. This is not new news.

How can they be "alternative when everyone and their grandmother has Tatoos and multi piercings?

well i thought suicide girls were an organized group of tattooed models with peircings and wild hair.  Great models by the way, but i heard the contract sucks...like your in it for life or damn near.  That's just what i heard.

Yeah, old news.

AFAIK, Apnea was the only girl Playboy deemed worthy of displaying on their website as a Suicide Girl [affiliate] though.

And SG pulled some really shifty shit on her afterwards.

And that's all I'm going to say on this subject.  If this thread starts getting out of hand (like they always seem to do), it will probably get locked.

And this more recent one discussing their contracts as well as their marketing [of images] to other "adult" [read here "porn"] websites:

No, that would be assisted suicide. Maybe together they can call it the Kevorkian Network or something.
