This is pretty funny considering the post about two listings down about how lots of models are using guns in their shots now. I think I did my first "shoot with a gun" in 2001... and NOW it's just getting popular? No, I don't agree, necessarily but thats irrelevent.

I'm a recent UK resident and as you know, all guns are banned. I am looking for a realistic prop handgun. I don't want to buy it but wouldn't mind renting it for the shoot. If anyone knows any places to get one, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Cant remember the name but there is a place in London near the Strand. There is also an indoor fireing range in that area as well. They should be able to help you. Look up AirSoft on the net you will find a UK supplier somewhere/ hope it helps.

It partly depends on what you are looking for! Careful selection of toy guns sprayed matt black can look OK, other than that there is the replica market. 

A few small replica shops would, [if you talk nicely to them] sell you the gun for a photo shoot and provided that it was returned in its box in the same condition as when you got it, give you your money back less a small amount. Which I guess would cost you about the same as renting.

Try these guys... they all have some non-firing props, blank fire or other stuff [SFX items - e.g. gas "fire" simulators] available - N.B. THEY ALL MAY IMPOSE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS ON HIRERS, INCLUDING INSURANCE, due to the UK rules, regulations and laws... as you know.

Ask if they are on the BBC approved armorers list.

There are some great store in Camden in London, they are dodgy kind of places, and actually sell real guns etc, But there are places that have great replicas around that area..
