Nothing like a good set of prints, eh? lol Sep 07 06 02:04 am Link Sep 07 06 04:25 am Link I shot my first pin-up style recently, with the incomparable Casadie, who is, coincidentally, a "model of color", and I will happily shoot models of any hue who are interested in the genre. Although the "historical" pinups didn't have much variety of models, the style, posing, and lighting lend themselves very well to all sorts of models, so I confess I'm surprised there aren't more photographers and models experimenting in this genre. Any models, photographers, or MUAs who are interested in pinups, feel free to contact me! --Sam Sep 07 06 08:07 am Link Lenore wrote: One of your shots says something to me... if the costume were to be "slightly" different: Sep 07 06 10:00 am Link what about asian pin ups? Sep 07 06 10:25 am Link ![]() Sep 07 06 12:01 pm Link Well, some of us try - I realize I don't have period anything going for me (I did away with my straight hair in...2001, 2002? and I'm never going back!), so it would be difficult to work around images that have really such a specific look and style. I would say capturing the attitude could work as well, but that's a feat in and out of itself. There's a definite sort of class that comes across that I believe most of us nowadays missed the train on. As both a graphic artist/illustrator and as a potential model, I love the pinups and hope I could be successful as one, but the lingering ideals that go with the imagery make me doubtful. However, if it's not for me, it's not for me. Sep 07 06 12:53 pm Link I shoot with anyone no matter what color, it's all in the styling/poses anyways.. but I enjoy Mark Lacy's work with women of color the most.. He's NYC based and on here https://www.modelmayhem.com/pics.php?id=4880. Sep 07 06 02:09 pm Link Viva Van Story wrote: Wow, beautiful... I absolutely love his work.. BlackWatch wrote: Sep 08 06 01:49 pm Link This is a great shot, but the model's pose needs a little help... legs straight, toes pointed and hands covering but not crushing the breasts would make this a perfect image. Viva Van Story wrote: Sep 08 06 01:54 pm Link I'd love to shoot some pin-ups!! Sep 08 06 01:56 pm Link I'm interested (depending what kind). If it's anything like the Vintage ones, count me in! Sep 08 06 02:03 pm Link You know, I was always wondering about pin-up models of color. There are only a few. One from the 70's that I can think of is Pam Grier....Foxy Brown. Sep 08 06 02:05 pm Link I have been researching this myself. I do a lot of retro work and have a lot of women of different ethnicities hire me. I use Dorthy Dandrige, Eartha Kitt, Billie Holliday and Masuimi Max (and others) as inspiration. Here's one of the pics I did the makeup for... ![]() Sep 08 06 02:17 pm Link Cynthia Rose wrote: Beautiful pic...
