A model invited me to her home for a shoot. She is a stranger to me and I some how don't feel safe. Should I carry an escort?

yep a female one... you can wear her as a hat, thus avoiding the potential of distracting the model.

Thats a hard one. If you have a studio why would you go to her home. Use the studio or shoot outside. You never know what your waking into.

It depends, how heavy is this escort and how far do you have to carry him/her?

Well, it's always nice to have one if the shoot doesn't work out.

Hire an assistant.  They can help you by holding reflectors, and doing things that would stall the shoot.

If you are going to be doing much of this type of photography, you may want to consider taking a class and getting a Concealed Weapons Permit.  By having a permit, it doesn't mean that you HAVE to carry a gun or any other weapon.  It simply means that you CAN carry (and conceal) something to protect yourself in the event of an ambush.  Remember:  In their house, you don't know where they keep their weapons.  Also, there are a LOT of weird people in the world who would love to steal your stuff.

Honestly though, the assistant is the best way to go.

Honestly, I would take two.
Have one dress as a secret agent, complete with earpiece, to stand watch outside the door. The second one should be within reach at all times, shadowing you as you work.

And here I was thinking you were going to carry a Ford Escort to a shoot.

who knows but what is the difference between who needs an escort from whom.

Why is it always the model who needs someone to watch out for them?
